Position: Sr Lead

Location: Chennai

Reporting to: Project Manager

Job Summary:

The role will lead and support the ongoing implementation and enhancement of the Firms privacy program, ensuring alignment with applicable regulations as well as internal standards and industry best practices. The candidate will play a critical role in strengthening privacy governance, mitigating data risks, and embedding privacy-by-design principles across the organization.

Job Description:

- Drive the end-to-end privacy program lifecycle: design, implementation, training, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

- Develop, review, and maintain privacy policies, standards, templates, and documentation.

- Establish scalable processes and reporting dashboards to enable effective privacy governance.

- Monitor changes in applicable privacy laws, regulations, and emerging technologies, and assess their impact on the Firm.

- Ensure alignment of privacy practices with local and global regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, PDPA, DPDPA).

- Support global and regional audits, practice reviews, and regulatory engagements.

- Conduct privacy risk assessments and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.

- Provide advisory support on privacy considerations for new services, products, system implementations, and business changes.

- Oversee handling of data subject requests (DSRs) and privacy incidents, ensuring timely resolution and regulatory compliance.

- Lead investigations into privacy incidents and manage grievance redressal mechanisms.

- Partner with business units, service lines, network privacy teams, and the Information Security function to ensure alignment across programs.





- Act as the primary point of contact for privacy matters internally and with external stakeholders, including regulators.

- Develop and deliver privacy training and awareness programs across the organization.

- Mentor and guide team members and privacy champions within functions and service lines.

Profile Description:

Educational Background

- Preferred: Degree in Law OR membership with ICSI / ICAI / ICMAI

- Alternate: Degree in Engineering, Science, or IT with strong knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks

Certifications (Preferred)

- IAPP (CIPP/ CIPM/ CIPT)

- ISO 27001:2022, ISO 27701:2019 or equivalent

Work Experience

- 4–8 years of relevant experience, including significant exposure to designing and implementing privacy programs in large organizations

- Strong understanding of IT systems, architecture, and data flows in the context of privacy risk management
