Key Responsibilities
- Lead incoming, in-process, and final quality inspection activities.
- Ensure products comply with customer specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
- Monitor and improve product quality through effective process control and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Handle customer complaints and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Conduct root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and other quality tools.
- Lead containment actions and coordinate with Production, Tool Room, Maintenance, and Engineering teams for quality improvement.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
- Maintain quality documentation, inspection records, control plans, PFMEA, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Monitor key quality KPIs such as PPM, rejection rate, rework, customer complaints, and supplier quality performance.
- Coordinate internal process audits, layered process audits, and support external customer and certification audits.
- Manage calibration of measuring instruments and ensure timely verification.
- Lead the quality inspection team by assigning responsibilities, monitoring performance, and providing technical guidance.
- Coordinate with suppliers to resolve incoming quality issues and drive supplier quality improvements.
- Support recent product development through APQP, PPAP documentation, process validation, and customer approvals.
- Promote quality awareness and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.Role & responsibilities
Preferred candidate profile
- Strong knowledge of Rubber and Plastic Injection Molding Processes.
- Good understanding of automotive quality requirements.
- Hands-on experience in:
- IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
- APQP
- PPAP
- FMEA (PFMEA & DFMEA)
- Control Plan
- MSA
- SPC
- GD&T; Interpretation
- Root Cause Analysis (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone)
- CAPA Implementation
- Knowledge of customer-specific requirements for automotive OEMs.
- Proficiency in quality inspection equipment such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, Profile Projector, CMM (preferred), and other measuring instruments.
- Good knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical / Production / Polymer Engineering) or
- Diploma in Mechanical / Plastic Technology with relevant experience.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- 1012 years of quality control experience in the Rubber & Plastic Manufacturing Industry.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Team Leader or Assistant Manager role.
- Experience in automotive component manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle customer audits and resolve quality issues independently.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies will be an added advantage.
