SAP S/4HANA aATP (GATP) Consultant – SD Integration

Job Description

1. Role Summary

The SAP S/4HANA Advanced ATP (aATP) Consultant is responsible for designing, configuring, and integrating aATP capabilities with Sales & Distribution (SD) processes. The role requires strong expertise in availability check, product allocation, backorder processing, alternative-based confirmation, and delivery scheduling within S/4HANA.

2. Key Responsibilities

Functional Design & Configuration

- Configure S/4HANA aATP functionalities replacing APO GATP:
- Product Availability Check (PAC)
- Product Allocation (PAL)
- Backorder Processing (BOP)
- Alternative-Based Confirmation (ABC)
- Supply Protection
- Release for Delivery (RFD)

- Integrate aATP with SD order management (VA01/VA02 and Fiori apps).
- Define check instructions, check control, and ATP rules.
- Configure material substitution, location substitution, and allocation sequences.
- Set up delivery scheduling, transportation lead times, and confirmation strategies.

Technical & Analytical

- Analyze ATP tree (VETVG), requirements (VBBE), and allocation tables.
- Work with ABAP teams for enhancements, BADIs, and custom ATP logic.
- Troubleshoot ATP failures, partial confirmations, and BOP reallocation issues.
- Optimize performance using HANAbased ATP engine.

Project Delivery

- Prepare FS/TS documents, configuration guides, test scripts, and KT materials.
- Lead UAT cycles for SD + aATP scenarios.
- Support cutover activities for ATPrelevant master data (allocations, substitution rules).




- Provide hypercare support post golive.

3. Required Skills & Experience

Functional Expertise

- 6–12 years of SAP SD experience with robust ordertocash knowledge.
- 3–6 years of experience in APO GATP or S/4HANA aATP.
- Handson configuration of PAL, BOP, ABC, PAC, and RFD.
- Strong understanding of ATP in intercompany, thirdparty, MTO, MTS, and STO flows.

Technical Understanding

- Knowledge of ATP tables: VBAK, VBAP, VBBE, VETVG, PAL tables.
- Understanding of HANAbased ATP engine and Fiori apps.
- Ability to work with ABAP teams for enhancements and debugging.

CrossFunctional Knowledge

- Basic understanding of MM, PP, EWM, TM, and IBP interactions with ATP.
- Experience in supply chain planning concepts (safety stock, lead times, allocations).

Soft Skills

- Strong documentation skills (FS/TS, KT, test scripts).
- Excellent communication with business stakeholders.
- Ability to lead workshops and explain ATP concepts clearly.

4. Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in APO GATP S/4HANA aATP migration.
- Exposure to global ATP scenarios (multiplant, multicountry).
- Experience with Fioribased BOP and PAL apps.
- SAP certification in SD or S/4HANA Supply Chain.

- Troubleshoot ATP failures and optimize confirmation logic.

6. Ideal Candidate Profile

- Strong SD consultant with deep ATP expertise.
- Handson experience in S/4HANA aATP (mandatory).
- Ability to translate business fulfillment requirements into ATP rules.
- Comfortable working in fastpaced global project environments.
