Job Description: uPVC Extrusion Operator (Low Scrap & High Discipline Focus)

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled uPVC Extrusion Operator responsible for running extrusion lines efficiently with minimal scrap, consistent quality, and strict adherence to process standards.

- Follow standard operating procedures without deviation

Core Responsibilities

1. Pre-Operation Setup

- Verify raw materials as per formulation
- Ensure proper mixing quality and dryness
- Check die, calibrator, and tooling alignment
- Confirm machine readiness:
- Heater bands
- Temperature controllers
- Vacuum tank & cooling system

- Complete pre-start checklist (mandatory)

2. Machine Operation

- Operate extrusion line as per standard parameters
- Maintain:
- Barrel & die temperature profile
- Screw RPM
- Haul-off speed

- Avoid unnecessary parameter changes

3. Quality Control

- Perform hourly checks for:
- Dimensions
- Surface finish
- Weight consistency

- Identify defects early:





- Bubbles
- Burns
- Lines
- Bending

- Take immediate corrective action

4. Scrap Reduction Responsibility

- Minimize start-up rejection
- Control process variations to avoid defects
- Segregate scrap properly:
- Reusable
- Non-reusable

- Maintain scrap within defined limits

5. Discipline & Shop Floor Management

- Maintain clean working area
- Follow safety protocols (PPE mandatory)
- Avoid material contamination or mixing
- Ensure tools and materials are properly organized

6. Documentation & Reporting

- Record:
- Production output
- Scrap quantity & reasons
- Machine parameters

- Report abnormalities immediately to supervisor

7. Shutdown Procedure

- Perform proper purging
- Clean die and calibration system
- Follow correct shutdown sequence
- Handover status to next shift clearly Role & responsibilities
