Job Summary

The Senior Executive / AM Logistics and Transportation is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring transportation operations to ensure timely, cost-effective, and efficient movement of goods. The role focuses on managing transport vendors, optimizing routes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting overall supply chain performance.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

- Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily transportation activities to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Schedule vehicle dispatches based on customer orders and operational priorities.
- Coordinate with warehouses, production, procurement, and sales teams to ensure seamless logistics operations.
- Manage relationships with transporters, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
- Track shipments and proactively resolve transportation delays or delivery issues.
- Optimize transportation routes to reduce costs, improve delivery performance, and maximize vehicle utilization.
- Monitor freight costs and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Verify transportation documentation, including delivery challans, invoices, e-way bills, and proof of delivery.
- Maintain accurate transportation records and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly logistics reports.
- Analyse transportation KPIs such as:
- On-Time Delivery (OTD)
- Freight Cost per Shipment
- Vehicle Utilization
- Transit Time
- Delivery Accuracy
- Claims and Damage Rate

- Coordinate reverse logistics, returns, and replacement shipments when required.




- Investigate logistics issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support inventory movement planning between warehouses, plants, and customer locations.
- Negotiate transportation rates and service agreements with logistics vendors.
- Monitor transporter performance and conduct periodic performance reviews.
- Ensure proper loading, unloading, and cargo handling practices to minimize damages.
- Collaborate with finance for freight bill verification and payment reconciliation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Support audits related to logistics, transportation, and statutory compliance.
- Train and guide junior logistics staff and coordinate cross-functional teams during critical shipments.
