Project Manager (CMWSSB Smart Water Meter Project)

Location: Chennai

Project: Procurement, Testing, Installation, Commissioning, Operation, and Maintenance of 1.0 Lakh Smart Water Meters with Associated Communication and Billing System under Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM)

Project Duration: 30 Months

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Lead the end-to-end execution and monitoring of the Smart Water Metering Project within defined timelines and budget.
- Supervise installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance activities related to AMI/Smart Water Meter infrastructure.
- Monitor compliance of concessionaires, vendors, subcontractors, and system integrators with project scope, technical specifications, and contractual obligations.
- Coordinate with CMWSSB departments, contractors, consultants, IT teams, billing teams, and external stakeholders for project execution and approvals.
- Review project schedules, milestones, risks, dependencies, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Facilitate integration and testing of smart water meters, communication systems, HES/MDMS platforms, mobile applications, and ERP/billing systems.
- Conduct review meetings and prepare progress reports, technical reports, and management presentations.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and contractual compliance throughout project implementation.
- Monitor field activities, inspections,



testing, and commissioning works to ensure project quality and operational efficiency.
- Identify deviations, delays, and technical challenges and initiate corrective and preventive actions.
- Support dispute resolution, project coordination, and stakeholder management activities.
- Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and record maintenance throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualification: Bachelors Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering / Instrumentation & Control Engineering or equivalent. Postgraduate qualification in relevant engineering discipline or MBA preferred.

Experience:

- Minimum 15 years of experience in Project Management, Utility Projects, or Smart Infrastructure Projects.
- Experience in Smart Metering / AMI Projects / IoT-based Utility Projects is preferred.
