Job Description: Senior Finance Executive

Department: Finance & Accounts Reporting To: Finance Manager / Head of Finance Experience Required: 6+ Years Location: Navalur Employment Type: Full-Time





About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Finance Executive to manage end-to-end payroll processing, accounting operations, and statutory compliance for the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Zoho (Payroll & Books), a solid understanding of Indian statutory compliances, and prior exposure to US-related compliance requirements, including liaisoning with US CPAs for reporting purposes. Proficiency in Excel and comfort using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude to improve efficiency and accuracy in day-to-day finance operations is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll & Accounting

- Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing using Zoho Payroll, including salary computation, deductions, reimbursements, and full & final settlements.

- Record and reconcile day-to-day accounting entries in Zoho Books, including journal entries, ledger scrutiny, and month-end/year-end closing activities.

- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, MIS reports, and reconciliations (bank, vendor, and payroll).

- Ensure timely disbursement of salaries and resolve payroll-related employee queries.

Statutory & Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure accurate and timely compliance with GST (returns, reconciliations, input credit matching).

- Manage TDS computation, deduction, deposit, and return filing (24Q/26Q, Form 16/16A).

- Handle Provident Fund (PF) and ESI compliance including monthly filings, remittances, and employee-related documentation.

- Manage Professional Tax (PT) registrations, deductions, and periodic filings across applicable states.

- Handle STPI (Software Technology Parks of India) related compliance, including softex filings, periodic returns, renewals, and liaisoning with STPI authorities.

US Compliance & Cross-Border Coordination





- Support and coordinate on US-related compliance requirements relevant to the organization's finance operations.

- Liaise directly with US CPA firms for preparation, review, and submission of compliance-related reports and documentation.

- Assist in reconciling data and reports required for US tax filings, financial statements, or audit purposes as applicable.

Tools, Reporting & Process Efficiency

- Prepare financial and payroll reports/analysis using advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data validation, etc.).

- Leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude to streamline repetitive tasks, draft compliance communications, assist in data analysis, and improve overall process efficiency.

- Support internal and statutory audits by providing timely documentation and clarifications.

- Continuously identify opportunities to improve accuracy, automation, and turnaround time in payroll and accounting processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field (M.Com/MBA Finance).

- Experience: Minimum 6 years in payroll processing and accounting, with proven experience in Zoho Payroll and Zoho Books.

- Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, PF, ESI, and Professional Tax compliance and filings.

- Prior experience handling STPI compliance for IT/ITES or export-oriented units.

- Exposure to US compliance processes and experience liaisoning with US CPAs for reports and filings.

- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.

- Comfortable using AI productivity tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for finance and compliance tasks.

- Strong attention to detail, ownership, and ability to manage multiple statutory deadlines independently.

- Good communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, government authorities, and external consultants/CPAs.

Preferred Attributes

- Experience working in a startup or IT/ITES/export-oriented company.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple compliance calendars.
