Position Summary
The Fire Fighting Design Lead Engineer shall be responsible for leading the complete engineering, design, estimation support, coordination, and technical delivery of Fire Protection Systems for commercial, industrial, infrastructure, data center, healthcare, and high-rise building projects.
The role requires strong knowledge of NFPA, FM Global, NBC India, IS Codes, Civil Defense requirements, hydraulic calculations, BIM coordination, and project engineering management.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design

- Lead the design and engineering of:
- Fire Hydrant Systems
- Automatic Sprinkler Systems
- Foam Suppression Systems
- Water Mist Systems
- Clean Agent Systems
- Kitchen Hood Suppression Systems
- Fire Water Storage & Pumping Systems
- Deluge & Pre-Action Systems
- Fire Hose Reel Systems

- Prepare:

- Design Basis Reports (DBR)
- Hydraulic Calculations
- Fire Water Demand Calculations
- Pump Selection Calculations
- Equipment Sizing Reports
- Material Submittals
- Technical Compliance Statements

Design Development

- Develop:
- Concept Design
- Detailed Design
- IFC Drawings
- Shop Drawings
- As-Built Drawings

- Review:

- P&ID;
- Single Line Diagrams
- Fire Water Network Layouts
- Pump Room Layouts
- Equipment Room Layouts





- Ensure compliance with project specifications and client requirements.

- Lead BIM coordination activities.

- Guide BIM Modelers and CAD Draftsmen.

Estimation & Tender Support

- Review tender specifications.
- Prepare BOQ verification reports.
- Support estimation team in:
- Quantity Take-Offs
- Vendor Evaluation
- Technical Bid Reviews
- Value Engineering

Project Engineering Support

- Attend client engineering meetings.
- Resolve technical queries.
- Support project execution teams.
- Review RFIs and engineering submissions.
- Ensure timely engineering deliverables.

Team Leadership

- Lead and mentor:
- Fire Fighting Design Engineers
- BIM Engineers
- CAD Draftsmen





- Conduct design reviews.
- Establish engineering quality standards.
- Develop standard design templates and libraries.

Qualifications
Education

- B.E./B.Tech Mechanical Engineering
- M.E. Fire Protection Engineering (Preferred)

Certifications (Preferred)

- NFPA Certifications
- CFPS (Certified Fire Protection Specialist)
- PMP Certification
- BIM Certification

Experience
Essential

- Minimum 8-10 years of Fire Protection Design experience.
- Minimum 2 years in a Lead Design role.
