Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of autonomous UAS platforms and swarming behaviours.
- Architect and implement software solutions using ROS/ROS2, C++, and Python for real-time aerial navigation.
- Oversee Visual-SLAM algorithms and sensor fusion (LiDAR, Radar, Cameras, IMU) for obstacle avoidance and 3D mapping.
- Manage and customize flight control systems using PX4 or Ardupilot, including PID tuning and EKF optimization.
- Coordinate systems integration across flight controllers, companion computers, and tactical payloads.
- Develop and test in high-fidelity simulation environments like Gazebo, AirSim, or Unity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, avionics, and flight-testing departments.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical strategy for autonomous ISR and electronic warfare roadmaps.
- Ensure compliance with safety, performance, and DGCA/Military reliability standards
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in ROS/ROS2, C++, and Python within embedded Linux environments.
- Deep understanding of UAV Dynamics, Path Planning (A, RRT)**, and State Estimation.
- Expertise with PX4, Ardupilot, Mavlink, and UAVCAN protocols.
- Familiarity with simulation tools like Gazebo, AirSim, and SITL/HITL testing workflows.
- Hands-on experience with LiDAR-based SLAM, Optical Flow, and GNSS-denied positioning.
- Excellent debugging and optimization skills for compute-constrained onboard hardware (Jetson and similar).
Required Qualifications:
- M.E./M.Tech in Robotics, Aerospace, Autonomous Systems, or Control Systems.
- PhD in Robotics, Aerospace, Autonomous Systems, or Control Systems (Optional)
- 8 to 10+ years of experience in autonomous systems development, with at least 5 years focused on UAS/UAVs.
