Role & responsibilities

- Design and develop automotive lighting systems and/or plastic components as per customer requirements
- Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies & 2D drawings using CATIA V5
- Apply GD&T; and perform tolerance stack-up analysis for dimensional compliance
- Ensure packaging, manufacturability, assembly feasibility & vehicle integration
- Prepare/review DFMEA, DVP, EBOM/BOM, engineering drawings, validation reports & ECN/ECR
- Support prototype development, testing, validation & design verification
- Analyze and resolve design/quality issues using structured problem-solving
- Interact with customers on technical requirements, design reviews & engineering changes
- Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturing & tooling teams for project execution
- Manage deliverables against quality, cost & schedule targets




- Identify value engineering opportunities (cost, weight, performance)
- Support continuous improvement & mentor junior engineers

Preferred candidate profile

- Solid hands-on CATIA V5 (Part Design, Assembly, Surface Modeling, 2D Drafting)
- Expertise in Exterior Lighting Design (Head Lamp, Tail Lamp, DRL, Fog Lamp, Signal Lamp) or Plastic Components (Trim, Bumper, Grille, Console, Pillars, Garnish)
- Knowledge of ECE Lighting Regulations & automotive standards
- Familiarity with APQP, PPAP & product development lifecycle
- Strong analytical, communication & documentation skills
- OEM/Tier-1 experience and end-to-end (concept to production) exposure is a plus
