Position: BIM Modeller / BIM Engineer

Location: Chennai

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop and maintain high-quality 3D BIM models for substations, industrial plants, and infrastructure projects using Autodesk Revit and other BIM platforms in accordance with project requirements and BIM standards.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings and construction documentation using AutoCAD 2D/3D and Revit, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to client specifications.
- Perform clash detection, model validation, and quality assurance checks using Autodesk Navisworks and Solibri Office to identify and resolve interdisciplinary conflicts during the design phase.
- Coordinate and integrate multidisciplinary BIM models, involving Civil, Structural, Electrical, and Mechanical disciplines, to ensure seamless project execution and enhanced collaboration.
- Generate Bills of Quantities (BOQ), Material Take-Offs (MTO), and quantity reports directly from BIM models to support estimation, procurement, and project planning activities.
- Drive automation and workflow optimization initiatives through Dynamo scripting and custom Revit tools to improve productivity and standardize BIM processes.
- Create, manage, and maintain Revit families, templates, BIM libraries, and project standards to ensure consistency and compliance across projects.
- Integrate and process point cloud data for modelling, verification, renovation, and retrofit projects, ensuring accuracy in existing condition assessments.
- Work with IFC workflows and open BIM standards to facilitate interoperability between different BIM platforms and project stakeholders.
- Support the implementation of 4D and 5D BIM methodologies, including construction sequencing, project scheduling, quantity-linked cost management, and project controls.
- Manage BIM collaboration, document control, model sharing, version management, and Common Data Setting (CDE)



processes using Autodesk BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Ensure compliance with BIM Execution Plans (BEP), Level of Development (LOD) requirements, client standards, naming conventions, and project-specific BIM protocols.
- Participate actively in BIM coordination meetings, manage design revisions and scope changes, and facilitate effective interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of substation layouts, electrical equipment, structural systems, cable routing, underground utilities, and engineering drawings to support accurate and efficient model development.
- Provide technical support to engineering and site teams by resolving BIM-related issues and ensuring the timely delivery of project deliverables.

QUALIFICATION:

- B.E. in Electrical Engineering
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering may be considered based on relevant experience and technical expertise.

MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND INDUSTRY PREFERENCE:

- 2-10 years of experience in BIM Modelling and Engineering, preferably within Substation, Industrial, or Infrastructure Projects.
- Proven experience in developing and managing multidisciplinary BIM models using Autodesk Revit.
- Hands-on expertise in clash detection, model coordination, quantity extraction, and BIM documentation workflows.
- Strong understanding of substation engineering concepts, electrical layouts, cable routing systems, and interdisciplinary coordination requirements.
- Experience working with Common Data Environments (CDE), BIM standards, and project-specific BIM execution requirements.
- Exposure to 4D/5D BIM applications, point cloud integration, and BIM automation techniques will be considered an added advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, coordinate with stakeholders, and deliver quality outputs within project timelines.

MUST:

- Hands-on experience in Autodesk Revit and BIM tools for engineering projects.
- Substation project experience with strong knowledge of substation layouts and electrical systems
