About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Manager - Electrical Maintenance to oversee the maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of electrical infrastructure and utilities across our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum equipment uptime, regulatory compliance, energy optimization, and safe plant operations while leading a team of maintenance professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance & Plant Utilities

- Plan, execute, and supervise preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems.
- Maintain electrical infrastructure including HT/LT systems (11kV to 440V), transformers, switchgear, power distribution boards, control panels, DG sets, UPS systems, HVAC systems, lighting, earthing systems, and water pumping systems.
- Diagnose electrical faults and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Ensure reliability and optimum performance of plant electrical assets.

Production Equipment Maintenance

- Maintain electrical systems of manufacturing equipment such as printing, cutting, lamination, folding, and other production machinery.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with production teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain equipment history records, maintenance logs, PM checklists, and service documentation.
- Monitor equipment health and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and asset life.

Energy Management

- Monitor electricity consumption, maximum demand, and power quality.




- Identify opportunities for energy conservation and cost optimization.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring electrical failures and implement sustainable solutions.

Safety & Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical safety standards, statutory regulations, and company safety policies.
- Coordinate inspections and approvals with statutory authorities and electrical inspectors.
- Promote secure work practices and ensure proper use of PPE during maintenance activities.

Vendor & Contractor Management

- Manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs) and service providers.
- Supervise contractors and ensure quality, safety, and timely completion of work.
- Verify work completion, measurements, and contractor invoices.

Inventory & Spare Management

- Maintain optimum inventory levels for electrical spares and consumables.
- Plan procurement requirements to avoid maintenance delays.
- Maintain accurate records of spare parts usage and stock levels.

Documentation & Reporting

- Prepare maintenance reports, equipment performance reports, energy reports, and downtime analysis.
- Maintain statutory records and technical documentation.
- Track maintenance costs and recommend cost-saving initiatives.

Team Leadership





- Lead and supervise the electrical maintenance team.
- Allocate work, monitor performance, and provide technical guidance.
- Train technicians on equipment operation, maintenance practices, and safety procedures.
- Coordinate effectively with production, engineering, quality, and external vendors.

Continuous Improvement

- Drive initiatives to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize maintenance costs.
- Participate in process improvement and modernization projects.
- Support implementation of best maintenance practices and continuous improvement methodologies.

Candidate Profile

Education

- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience

- 3 to 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in printing, packaging, paper, FMCG, or process industries will be an added advantage.
