Position Summary
The General Manager Finance & Accounts will serve as the senior finance leader for the Company, providing strategic and operational financial leadership to support profitable growth, financial discipline, and long-term value creation. The incumbent will engage with the Chairman, Managing Director and business leaders to drive financial performance, strengthen controls, ensure statutory compliance, and establish world-class finance processes and systems. This role offers a potential career path to a future Group CFO position.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Finance & Business Partnering
- Support business strategy, investment evaluations, and profitability improvement initiatives.
- Drive financial discipline and support expansion and growth initiatives.
Financial Planning, Reporting & MIS
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
- Establish robust MIS and performance reporting systems.
- Ensure timely closure of accounts and preparation of financial statements.
Manufacturing Finance & Cost Management
- Oversee product costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing cost control.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives through variance analysis and operational improvements.
- Engage with plant leadership to improve profitability across multi-plant operations.
Treasury & Working Capital Management
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, banking relationships, and treasury operations.
- Optimize working capital through effective management of receivables, inventory, and payables.
Compliance, Governance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all direct and indirect tax regulations and statutory requirements.
- Manage statutory, internal, cost, and tax audits.
- Strengthen internal controls, SOPs, governance mechanisms, and risk management practices.
ERP & Digital Transformation
- Drive ERP implementation, finance process automation, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Develop dashboards and management reporting tools to improve business decision-making.
Leadership
- Build and develop a high-performing finance team and foster cross-functional collaboration.
- Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

- Timely closure of accounts and accurate MIS reporting
- Working capital and cash flow improvement
- Budget adherence and forecasting accuracy

Candidate Profile
Education
- Chartered Accountant (CA) Mandatory
- Additional qualifications such as CMA will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 15 to 20 years of progressive finance experience in manufacturing industries.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior finance leadership role such as CFO, Head of Finance, Finance Controller, or General Manager Finance.
- Mandatory experience in automotive components, discrete manufacturing, foundry, industrial products, or export-oriented manufacturing businesses.
- Robust exposure to multi-plant manufacturing environments.
Technical Competencies
- Strong expertise in accounting, financial reporting, consolidation, and manufacturing finance.
- Deep understanding of cost accounting, taxation, treasury, and working capital management.
- Hands-on experience in ERP implementation and finance process transformation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong digital orientation.
- Exposure to Artificial Intelligence tools and modern finance technologies is highly desirable.
Travel Requirements
Regular travel between manufacturing plants and other business locations within Chennai and Coimbatore is required.
