The role serves three primary functions: Standards Custodian: Develop and maintain standardized electrical drawing templates, symbol libraries, and standard detail drawings used across all projects. Quality Gatekeeper: Review and approve all electrical project drawings before submission to ensure compliance with company drafting standards and coordination requirements. Knowledge Architect: Capture real-project learnings from site visits and convert them into structured training content and improved engineering standards. The position directly supports the Training Development (TD) department by contributing drawing-based content, real project case studies, and lessons learned from electrical system installations. Electrical Drawing Template Development: Develop and maintain the organizations complete electrical drawing template library covering all major drawing types. Develop standardized templates for lighting layouts, power layouts, UPS layouts, and earthing layouts Create cable tray layout templates, busduct routing drawings, and single line diagram (SLD) formats Develop riser diagram templates, panel room layout formats, and electrical room drawing standards Standardize layer naming conventions, symbol libraries, and annotation styles across all project templates Maintain panel tagging conventions, cable tagging standards, and circuit numbering systems Build and maintain comprehensive electrical block libraries and equipment family libraries Update templates regularly to incorporate lessons learned from completed projects Electrical Drafting Standards Library: Build and maintain a comprehensive library of standardized electrical drafting resources. Develop and maintain electrical symbol libraries compliant with IS and IEC standards Create standard panel schedules, MCC layout templates,

and DB schedules Develop cable tray detail drawings for various tray types and installation conditions Prepare earthing pit detail drawings and earthing grid layout standards Develop standard electrical room layouts and equipment arrangement drawings Maintain equipment block libraries covering all commonly used electrical equipment Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) for Electrical Drawings: Serve as the primary QA/QC reviewer for all electrical drawings across active projects. Review all electrical drawings prior to formal submission for standard compliance verification Verify correct circuit representation, panel tagging, cable sizing notation, and load schedules Ensure coordination of electrical drawings with HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, architecture, and structural disciplines Identify and resolve architectural and structural clashes before drawing submission Check drawing clarity, correct use of symbols, and accurate design intent representation Prepare QA/QC review reports with explicit findings and required corrective actions Verify that standard templates are consistently applied across all project deliverables Training Material Development: Support the TD department with drawing-based electrical training content. Develop electrical drafting training modules from standardized drawing templates Prepare Dos and Donts drawing examples from real project experience Create standard drawing examples, installation best practice illustrations, and coordination case studies Compile real project drawings with annotations to highlight quality standards Develop before/after drawing comparison examples for training use Project Drawing Standard Implementation: Ensure consistent application of drawing standards across all active projects. Conduct project kickoff briefings for drafting teams on current electrical drawing standards Distribute latest drawing standards and templates to all project teams at project initiation Monitor drawing standards compliance throughout the project lifecycle Site Visits Field Learning Capture: Conduct regular site visits to observe installation practices and capture technical learnings.

Visit active project sites to inspect electrical installations and identify design-execution gaps Interact with site engineers, MEP contractors, and installation teams to understand practical challenges Photograph installation issues, coordination conflicts, and non-compliant installations Document deviations between design drawings and site conditions Identify constructability issues, cable management challenges, and maintenance access concerns Lessons Learned Documentation: Systematically capture and integrate project learnings into the organizations knowledge base. Prepare structured lessons learned documentation with root cause analysis for each identified issue Develop corrective design improvement guidelines based on site observations Update drafting standards and templates based on identified gaps Contribute to the organizational lessons learned database Present key learnings during TD training sessions Skills Competency Requirements: AutoCAD 2D drafting, layer management, block creation, electrical layouts Expert (Mandatory) Revit MEP / BIM Electrical families, coordination models, clash detection Intermediate Advanced Electrical Systems Knowledge LV distribution, lighting, power, UPS, earthing, busducts Strong Understanding Coordination Drawings Interdisciplinary coordination with all MEP and civil disciplines Expert Drafting Standards IS, IEC, BS drawing conventions and electrical standards Expert Drawing QA/QC Review, checking, and formal approval workflows Expert MS Office Word, Excel for reports, documentation, and schedules
