Role & responsibilities;

Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Safety Officer is responsible for overseeing and leading the implementation of all health and safety policies on large or high-risk construction sites. This role ensures compliance with local and international HSE regulations, conducts high-level audits, and leads the incident investigation and risk management processes. The Senior Safety Officer also provides guidance and monitoring to junior HSE staff.

- Develop and enforce the sites overall health and safety plan in coordination with management. Requirements.
- Bachelors degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 815 years of HSE experience in construction or infrastructure projects, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
- Strong understanding of risk management, legal compliance, and incident prevention strategies.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

Certifications (Mandatory/Highly Preferred):

- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or higher (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma)
- ISO 45001:2018 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor Certification
- OSHA 30-hour certification




- First Aid, Fire Safety, Working at Heights, and Confined Space Entry Training

- Ensure compliance with regulatory and client-specific HSE standards (OSHA, ISO 45001, local laws).
- Oversee emergency preparedness, including drills, evacuation plans, and first aid response systems.
- Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to review and improve method statements and safety procedures.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of site inspections, incidents, training, and regulatory compliance.
- Interface with government inspectors, client HSE representatives, and auditors as required.
