If so, we'd love to hear from you.Williams Lea, a member of the RRD Group, is a global leader in business support services, providing technology-enabled solutions across document production, creative services, business support, and professional services to some of the world's leading organizations.As our VAT Manager, you will be the subject matter expert for UK indirect tax, responsible for ensuring VAT compliance while providing strategic guidance on UK, EU, and non-EU VAT matters. You will partner with Finance, Legal, Procurement, and Operational teams across multiple regions to deliver commercially sound, compliant tax solutions that support business growth.
We're looking for someone with 12+ years of industry experience in indirect taxation, including extensive knowledge of UK, EU, and non-EU VAT legislation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing VAT compliance, interpreting complex tax regulations, advising stakeholders on indirect tax implications, leading audits, mitigating tax risks, and driving process improvements. You should be confident engaging with senior stakeholders, influencing business decisions, and taking full ownership of the indirect tax function while fostering strong relationships across the organization.
Responsibilities:

- Review/preparation and completion of VAT filings, ensuring payment of final VAT liability is made on a timely basis
- Ensuring tax office audit queries are properly addressed and resolved with the authorities




- Extracting AP/AR reports; performing critical invoice VAT checks; identifying and resolving issues, initiating remediation, where required
- Analysing data and translating it into meaningful information, including sampling and variance analyses, where required.
- Ability to apply VAT technical skills to identify risk areas and sustainable planning opportunities
- Data cleansing/formatting to align with external VAT compliance provider requirements and/or templates
- Training of AP/AR teams
- -A keen interest in identifying and resolving issues with ERP system
- VAT control account reconciliations, including advising of profit and loss aspects of FX differences and irrecoverable VAT as required.
- Processing journal entries
- Active participation on business calls and meetings, driving issue resolution as required
- Preparing trackers, dashboards, etc.
- Planning/prioritization of workload
- Providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress
- Liaison with internal tax/finance teams and external VAT compliance providers
- Online return filing

Your Knowledge/Skill/Experience Requirements:

- • UK/EU VAT knowledge in particular, cross border supplies of goods and services, VAT invoices, VAT rates, VAT recovery, VAT reverse charge, VAT domestic reverse charge
- • UK/EU VAT compliance experience VAT returns, statistical returns, etc.
- • ERP knowledge/experience (ideally Workday)
- • Ability to manipulate and interrogate data
- • Ability to perform VAT checks on AP/AR invoices
- • Knowledge and proficient understanding of taxing software and tools
- • Strong computer technical skills including advanced MS Excel functionality
- • Ability to perform in a deadline driven environment
- • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- • Ability to act on own initiative
