Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CMM Operator to perform precision inspection of machined components, jigs, fixtures, and tooling parts using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). The candidate should have experience in dimensional inspection, interpretation of engineering drawings, GD&T;, and quality documentation to ensure components meet customer and manufacturing standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate CMM machines for dimensional inspection of machined components and assemblies.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T; symbols, and inspection standards.
- Perform first article inspection (FAI), in-process inspection, and final inspection.
- Create and execute CMM inspection programs using relevant software.
- Verify dimensions, geometric tolerances, and surface profiles as per specifications.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain quality records.
- Identify non-conforming parts and coordinate corrective actions with production teams.
- Support root cause analysis for quality issues.




- Ensure calibration status of measuring instruments is maintained.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper handling of inspection equipment.
- Follow quality systems, safety standards, and company procedures.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of CMM operation and inspection techniques.
- Familiarity with CMM software such as POLYWORKS, PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS, or similar.
- Solid understanding of GD&T; and engineering drawings.
- Experience in precision measurement and quality control.
- Ability to analyze inspection results and prepare reports.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Qualification

- ITI / Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Certification in CMM operation or metrology is preferred.

Experience

- 27 years experience in CMM inspection, preferably in jig and fixture manufacturing, tool room, or precision machining industry.
