Roles and Responsibilities

1. Compliance & Documentation

- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements under the Factories Act, 1948, and other applicable safety laws.
- Maintain and update records related to accidents, inspections, audits, PPE issuance, and training.
- Prepare and submit monthly and annual EHS reports to management and statutory bodies.
- Assist in obtaining and renewing licenses and approvals (e.g., Factory License, Pollution Control, Boiler, Lifting Tools, Pressure Vessel, etc.)

2. Safety Management & Inspections

- Conduct daily plant safety rounds to identify unsafe acts and conditions.
- Carry out Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessments, and Permit to Work (PTW) monitoring.
- Ensure proper implementation of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Work at Height, Confined Space, and Hot Work safety procedures.
- Inspect fire extinguishers, emergency exits, first aid kits, and safety equipment periodically.

3. Incident Management

- Investigate all accidents, near-misses, and unsafe incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain an incident database and ensure timely communication of learnings across departments.

4. Training & Awareness





- Conduct Safety Induction Training for current employees and contractors.
- Organize Toolbox Talks (TBT), safety drills, and awareness programs on topics such as fire safety, PPE usage, and emergency preparedness.
- Promote a safety-first culture through visual management, posters, and employee engagement programs.

5. Emergency Preparedness

- Develop and update the On-site Emergency Plan and Mock Drill Schedules.
- Coordinate fire drills and evacuation exercises in coordination with the Fire & Security team.
- Ensure functioning of fire detection and suppression systems across the plant.

6. Environmental & Occupational Health

- Monitor waste management, emissions, effluent, and noise levels as per PCB norms.
- Support implementation of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 (OHSMS) standards.
- Ensure occupational health checkups, canteen hygiene, and sanitation are maintained.

- Knowledge:
- EHS legal compliance (Factories Act, Environmental Acts, etc.)
- Hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRA)
- Emergency response management
- ISO 14001 & 45001 standards
