About the Role

Rexus is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and scaling of our modern data platform. You'll own our pipelines, warehouse architecture, and data infrastructure and play a key role in making our data AI-ready, so business teams can query it in natural language. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who's built modern data stacks end-to-end and wants to shape how AI gets used across a growing company.

What You'll Do

- Architect and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using dbt and Snowflake
- Own the data warehouse performance, reliability, cost, and scalability
- Build and manage infrastructure on a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Build semantic layers, metrics layers, and clean documented schemas that make the platform AI-ready for natural language querying and text-to-SQL
- Partner with data science/AI teams on pipelines that power ML models, LLM tools, and RAG-based products
- Set and enforce data quality, testing, and governance standards
- Mentor engineers and help set technical direction for the data team
- Work cross-functionally to turn business needs into data solutions

What You Bring





- 10+ years in data engineering, with deep hands-on Snowflake and dbt experience in production
- Strong cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Proven track record building data models, warehouses, and pipelines from the ground up
- Experience making data AI-ready — semantic/metrics layers, metadata, and natural language query support
- Robust grasp of AI/ML fundamentals: LLMs, embeddings, and their application to structured data
- Robust SQL and Python skills
- Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, or similar)
- Excellent communicator, comfortable in a distributed/remote team

Nice to Have

- Streaming data experience (Kafka, Kinesis)
- Hands-on with LLM tools, RAG pipelines, or text-to-SQL frameworks
- Retail or Restaurant industry background
- Startup or fast-scaling company experience
