The Behaviour Technician (ABA) is responsible for implementing evidence-based intervention programs based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for children with autism and other developmental disabilities in a clinical setting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implement individualized Behaviour Intervention Plans (BIPs) under the guidance of a supervising clinician.
- Deliver ABA therapy sessions to promote communication, language, social, adaptive, and functional skills.
- Implement behaviour reduction strategies using positive, evidence-based ABA techniques.
- Collect, record, and maintain accurate data on client progress and treatment outcomes.
- Collaborate with supervisors, therapists, and caregivers to ensure consistency in intervention strategies.
- Maintain skilled and ethical standards while providing high-quality client care.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Certification in ABAT (Applied Behavior Analysis Technician) or currently pursuing ABA certification is preferred.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology or a related field.
- Prior experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other developmental disabilities is an added advantage.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and observation skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team with a child-centered approach.
