Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled SolidWorks Sheet Metal Design Engineer with 5+ years of experience in sheet metal product design and development. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in SolidWorks Sheet Metal, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability (DFM). The role involves creating 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and coordinating with production teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop Sheet Metal components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Create detailed 3D models, fabrication drawings, and BOMs.
- Prepare manufacturing drawings in accordance with GDT standards.
- Develop flat patterns and optimize designs for laser cutting, bending, punching, welding, and fabrication.
- Perform Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) analysis.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and procurement teams for product development.
- Support prototype development, testing, and engineering changes (ECO/ECN).
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot design-related manufacturing issues and recommend improvements.
- Maintain engineering documentation and revision control.

Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in SolidWorks Sheet Metal Design.




- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (Parts, Assemblies, Sheet Metal, Weldments, Drawings).
- Valuable understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes:
- Laser Cutting
- CNC Punching
- Bending
- Welding
- Powder Coating

- Hands-on experience in GDT (ASME Y14.5).
- Knowledge of tolerance stack-up and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in preparing BOMs and engineering documentation.
- Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems is an advantage.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in industrial equipment, enclosures, automotive, HVAC, or fabrication industries.
- Exposure to ERP systems is an added advantage.
