Role Objective
To spearhead the sales operations and distribution network across South India (Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Kerala). The candidate will be responsible for achieving revenue targets, expanding the retail footprint, and leading a high-performing sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Revenue Growth: Own the P&L; for the South region. Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual primary and secondary sales targets.
- Distribution Management: Appoint, manage, and evaluate distributors. Ensure healthy ROI for partners and optimal stock rotation (FIFO) to prevent aging inventory.
- Market Expansion: Identify unrepresented territories and increase "Width of Distribution" by adding new retail outlets (Toy stores, Baby shops, Pharmacies, and Supermarkets).
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of Area Sales Managers (ASMs) and Sales Officers. Conduct regular joint-market visits to coach the team on the field.
- Trade Marketing:
Implement localized consumer promotions and trade schemes. Ensure high "Share of Shelf" and prominent visibility (POSM) in high-footfall outlets.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor pricing, new launches, and shifting trends in the baby care and toy sectors.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Graduate/MBA in Sales & Marketing.
- Experience: 10-15 years in FMCG sales, with at least 3-5 years in a regional leadership role. Experience in Games & Toys is a significant advantage.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Tamil.
- Added Advantage: Proficiency in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, or Malayalam is highly preferred for better local trade relations.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in SFA (Sales Force Automation) tools, DMS (Distributor Management Systems), and Microsoft Excel for data-driven decision-making.
Note for Candidates: This role requires extensive travel (up to 50-60% of the month) across the five southern states to maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders.
