Position Overview
The Securities Financing Operations Analyst is responsible for managing all middle office and administration activities for Securities Financing Lending & Repo products within the Asset Management Operations department. The primary goal is to ensure that every transaction is accurately captured, collateralized, settled, and reconciled, maintaining alignment between internal position-keeping tools, service providers, and client expectations.
Job Responsibilities
- Transaction Management: Manage high-volume, deadline-driven operations in a Securities Financing environment, ensuring all pre- and post-trade processes (trade instructions, SSIs, callbacks, and investigations) are completed.
- Corporate Entitlements: Oversee the end-to-end management of voluntary and mandatory corporate action events, from capture to closure, including custody-level reconciliation.
- Fee Billing: Manage the fee billing entitlement process, including statement distribution, reconciliation, collection, and payment.
- Risk & Compliance: Mitigate operational risks, report incidents to line management according to local policy, and maintain accurate internal/external records for audit purposes.
- Reporting: Deliver internal and external KPI reporting.
- Stakeholder Communication: Proactively communicate and escalate issues with trading desks, counterparties, and third-party vendors to maintain strong professional relationships.
Required Education, Skills and Experience (Must Have)
- Education: Graduation or Post Graduation from a recognized University with a Major in Finance.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in trade confirmation and settlement within security financing and trade support.
- Extensive knowledge base of Fixed Income and Equities for global markets.
- Hands-on experience with Corporate Actions (mandatory and voluntary).
- Experience in Collateral Management.
- Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of the Investment Banking Trade Lifecycle and financial instruments (stocks, bonds, derivatives, currencies).
- Knowledge of collateral types (cash, government bonds, OTC instruments, repos, letters of credit).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Robust numerical aptitude for detailed reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Behavioral Skills: High attention to detail, adaptability, teamwork, time management, and active listening.
- Availability: Flexibility to work in any assigned shift.
Preferred Education, Skills and Experience (Nice to Have)
- Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with industry-standard platforms such as BlackRock Aladdin and TriOptima.
- Advanced Communication: Demonstrated ability in effective people and client communication.
- Mindset: Proven track record of innovation and initiative in improving operational processes.
