1. Day-to-Day Job Duties
As a Stibo STEP Developer, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, and extending the Stibo STEP platform to support enterprise data management initiatives.
Daily / Weekly Responsibilities:• Design and implement data models in STEP including entities, attributes, hierarchies, classifications, and references
• Develop and maintain business rules using STEP JavaScript engine for validations, derivations, and automation logic
• Configure and enhance workflows for data onboarding, enrichment, approvals, and governance processes
• Build and support data import/export integrations (XML, CSV, Excel, REST APIs, event-based integrations)
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across business rules, workflows, and integrations
• Perform code reviews and optimization of existing STEP configurations
• Collaborate with business analysts, data stewards, QA teams, and architects to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)
• Maintain technical documentation for configurations, integrations, and custom development

2. Basic Qualifications
The following skills are required to be successful in this role:
• 36+ years of software development experience in enterprise applications
• 2–4+ years of hands-on experience with Stibo STEP (MDM/PIM platform)
• Strong experience with STEP business rules (JavaScript)

• Solid understanding of MDM concepts (data modeling, hierarchies, governance, data quality) – 2+ years
• Experience configuring workflows and approval processes – 2+ years
• Proficiency in data integration techniques (batch processing, APIs, file-based imports) – 2+ years
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases – 2+ years
• Experience with the Mulesoft integration platform
• Experience with RESTful APIs and integration patterns
• Familiarity with XML, JSON, and data transformation techniques
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using tools like Azure DevOps
• Robust problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex data/process issues

3. Nice-to-Have Skills
These skills enhance effectiveness and project success:
• Experience with Stibo STEP advanced features, including:
o Event processors
o Web UI customization
o Data profiling and quality dashboards
• Exposure to cloud environments (Azure, AWS) and containerization
• Familiarity with DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, Git, automated deployments)
• Experience with test automation and performance testing tools
• Understanding of PIM and syndication processes (GDSN, eCommerce platforms like SAP Commerce, SFCC)
• Stibo STEP certification(s) or participation in full lifecycle implementations
