About InSync

InSync Learning & Development is a Chennai-based education company helping students achieve international language certifications (IELTS, OET, CELPIP, PTE) and build their path to studying abroad. We're now expanding our Study Abroad division and are looking for an experienced counsellor to lead it.

The Role

We're looking for a sharp, experienced Study Abroad Counsellor who can take ownership of the student journey end-to-end from the first enquiry call to the day they land at their university. You'll be the face of InSync's overseas education practice, working directly with IELTS and language test students who are a natural pipeline for study abroad.

This is not an entry-level role. We need someone who has done this before, knows the visa landscape across multiple countries, and can counsel students and families with confidence.

What You'll Do

- Handle walk-in and inbound enquiries for study abroad understand student profiles, academic background, financial capacity, and goals
- Guide students on country selection, course shortlisting, and university applications (UK, Germany, Ireland, Canada, Australia primarily)
- Assist with documentation: SOPs, LORs, transcripts, financial proofs
- Stay current on visa requirements, intake deadlines, and admission processes for each destination
- Build and manage student pipelines in coordination with our partner universities
- Maintain follow-up cadences with leads and enrolled students
- Coordinate with internal teams on IELTS/OET prep timelines and eligibility
- Attend webinars, partner university sessions, and training programs to stay updated
- Help shape InSync's study abroad content and student-facing materials over time

What We're Looking For





- 2-5+ years of hands-on experience in overseas education counselling
- Strong working knowledge of student visa processes for UK, Germany, Ireland, Canada, and Australia not just awareness, but actual application experience
- Experience managing university applications across at least 3-4 destination countries
- Comfortable with documentation, deadlines, and managing multiple students at different stages simultaneously
- Clear, confident communicator — you'll be counselling students and parents, sometimes delivering difficult news around eligibility or rejections
- Self-starter who can build systems, not just follow them

Nice to Have

- Exposure to UK Tier 4 / Student Visa and Germany student visa processes in detail
- Prior experience working with IELTS or English proficiency preparation centres
- Connections with university representatives or education partners
- Familiarity with tools like CRMs, WhatsApp Business, or student management platforms
