Role Description Role Overview:
The Inventory Control Associate is responsible for executing day to day inventory control activities in SAP in accordance with Clients approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), period end timetables, and internal control requirements.
The role focuses on accurate and timely inventory movement processing, IDOC error resolution, inventory reconciliation, and operational reporting, while operating in a hybrid delivery model where ownership and approvals remain with Client. The associate supports business continuity, inventory accuracy, and audit readiness, particularly in SOX impacted areas.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
Inventory Operations Transaction Processing
- Perform daily IDOC error review and resolution, prioritizing exceptions using:
- SAP Out of Balance Report (ZUR110)
- IDOC Failure Reason Power BI dashboards
- Execute inventory movement transactions in SAP , including:
- Receipts, shipments, and inventory adjustments
- Returns from customers
- Scrap and distressed inventory clearing
- Balance inventory between OCS / Distribution Centers and SAP, ensuring system alignment.
Inventory Monitoring Reporting
- Support SAP in transit inventory reporting and follow up on discrepancies.
- Prepare and deliver daily inventory metrics and operational reports in line with agreed SLAs.
- Respond to ad hoc inventory related email requests within agreed turnaround times.
Controls, Documentation Compliance
- Record, maintain, and retain supporting documentation for all inventory transactions processed.
- Execute activities in compliance with SOX control requirements, including evidence preparation and audit support as required under the MPSA.
- Follow Client approved desktop procedures, policy manuals, and SOPs, ensuring changes are reflected and adopted as updates are issued.
Period End Audit Support
- Support inventory activities aligned to month end and period end close timetables provided by Client.
- Assist with internal audit, SOX, and external audit requests by providing timely data, documentation, and process clarifications.
- Escalate unresolved issues, recurring errors, or potential control gaps through defined goverce channels.
Collaboration Goverce
- Work closely with Client retained teams in a hybrid RACI model, respecting delegated vs. retained responsibilities.
- Participate in operational reviews and goverce routines as required.
- Identify potential process gaps or recurring issues and raise them appropriately for review during transition or steady state.
Skills Experience
Functional Technical Skills
- Hands on working knowledge of SAP inventory modules, especially inventory movements and IDOC handling.
- Experience working with inventory reconciliations, in transit inventory, and error resolution.
- Ability to interpret operational dashboards and exception reports.
- Strong documentation and evidence management discipline.
Behavioral Delivery Skills
- High attention to detail and strong transaction accuracy mindset.
- Ability to work in SLA driven, deadline oriented environments, including extended hours during close or exceptions.
- Comfort operating within defined SOPs and control frameworks without deviating from approved processes.
- Transparent written communication skills for issue escalation and ad hoc requests.
Qualifications (Education / Experience / Certification):
- Minimum English at CEFR ( Upper intermediate) or equivalent
- Economic education
- Is finalising certifications in DGEM Tech technologies
