Role Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager – Supply Chain Management to lead end-to-end supply chain operations across both business verticals. The role will be responsible for procurement, logistics, import-export compliance, warehousing, freight forwarding, trade documentation, and regulatory adherence while managing a 5-member SCM team.

The ideal candidate must possess strong expertise in international trade, customs compliance, banking instruments, and multi-country logistics coordination.

Key Responsibilities

1 Supply Chain & Operations Management

- Lead end-to-end SCM operations including procurement, logistics, warehousing and distribution.
- Manage operations across Chennai Corporate Office (Chetpet) and Warehouse (Padi).
- Supervise and develop a 5-member SCM team.
- Drive process improvements, cost optimization and operational efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs and internal compliance protocols.

2 Import & Export Management

- Handle multi-country imports and exports (Asia, Europe, Middle East, etc.).
- Manage complete export & import documentation:
- Coordinate with CHA (Custom House Agents), freight forwarders, and clearing agents.




- Ensure timely customs clearance and avoid demurrage/detention costs.

3 Freight Forwarding & Logistics

- Manage freight forwarding (Air & Sea).
- Negotiate freight rates with international logistics partners.
- Monitor shipment tracking, transit time, and cost control.
- Handle cross-border shipments and multi-leg logistics.
- Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations.

4 HSN Classification & Taxation Compliance

- Expertise in HSN (Harmonized System of Nomenclature) code classification:
- Accurate classification of marine electronics and auto ID products.
- Determining applicable customs duties and GST rates.
- Managing duty drawback, exemptions, and concessional duties.

- Ensure compliance with DGFT regulations.
- Maintain proper documentation for audits.
- WPC – Licensing / DPL

5 Customs & Trade Compliance

- Handle customs import/export procedures.
- Manage:
- E-way bills
- ICEGATE documentation
- DGFT licensing (if applicable)

- Oversee compliance with:

- Foreign Trade Policy
- FEMA guidelines
- RBI regulations

- Ensure proper handling of restricted and regulated items.

6 GST & Mercantile Trade

- Manage GST compliance related to:
- Imports (IGST on imports)
- Exports (Zero-rated supplies)

- Handle Mercantile Trade Transactions:

- Third-country trade (goods shipped from supplier country to customer country without entering India)




- RBI compliance

7 High Sea Sales

- Manage High Sea Sale transactions:
- Agreement documentation
- Duty implications
- GST treatment
- Customs endorsement procedures

- Coordinate with buyers and CHA for seamless clearance.

8 INCOTERMS Expertise

- Strong working knowledge of INCOTERMS 2020:
- EXW, FOB, CIF, CFR, DDP, DAP, FCA, etc.

- Advise sales team on appropriate trade terms.
- Assess risk transfer, insurance, and cost implications.

9 Letter of Credit (LC) & Banking

- Handle LC transactions (Import & Export).
- Coordinate with banks for:
- LC Drafting
- LC amendments
- Negotiation of documents

Inventory & Warehouse Management

- Monitor stock levels at Padi warehouse.
- Ensure accurate inventory reconciliation.
- Implement inventory control systems.
- Minimize slow-moving and non-moving stock.

Key Skills & Competencies

Experience & Qualification

- 12–20 years of experience in Supply Chain / Import-Export Management
- Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial role
- Experience in marine electronics, industrial automation, or technical trading companies preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Supply Chain / Logistics / Engineering
- Certification in International Trade / Logistics (preferred)
