Job Description Cost Engineer (Manufacturing Industry)

Roles & Responsibilities

* Prepare product costing and estimate manufacturing costs for new and existing products.

* Analyze material, labor, machine, and overhead costs.

* Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials) costing and verify cost accuracy.

* Coordinate with the Purchase, Production, Design, and Sales departments for cost-related information.

* Prepare quotations and cost sheets for customer enquiries.

* Monitor actual production costs and identify cost variances.

* Suggest cost reduction and value engineering opportunities without affecting product quality.

* Maintain standard costing data and update it periodically.

* Evaluate vendor quotations and compare material costs.

* Prepare monthly cost analysis and management reports.

* Support budgeting, forecasting, and pricing decisions.





* Ensure all costing records and documents are maintained accurately and confidentially.

* Assist in inventory valuation and stock cost verification.

* Follow company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Skills Required

* Knowledge of manufacturing costing and cost analysis.

* Good understanding of BOM, material costing, and production processes.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP software.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Valuable communication and coordination skills.
