Roles & Responsibilities

1. Lead and execute Primary and Secondary Design Engineering activities for AIS (Air Insulated Substations) and GIS (Gas Insulated Substations) across multiple voltage levels.
2. Prepare and review primary engineering deliverables including SLDs, General Arrangement Drawings, Equipment Layouts, Busbar Layouts, Earthing Layouts, Cable Trench Layouts, and Lightning Protection Layouts.
3. Develop and review secondary engineering deliverables such as Protection & Control Schematics, AC/DC Schematics, Wiring Diagrams, Cable Schedules, Interlocking Logic, and Control Panel Drawings.
4. Perform equipment selection, technical evaluation, and engineering calculations for transformers, circuit breakers, isolators, CTs, PTs/CVTs, surge arresters, busbars, and associated substation equipment.
5. Prepare technical specifications, BOQs, Material Requisitions (MR), and Bill of Materials (BOM), ensuring compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
6. Review vendor drawings, technical documents, and engineering deliverables while coordinating with Civil, Protection, SCADA, Telecom, Procurement, and Site teams for smooth project execution.





Preferred Qualifications

1. 710 years of experience in Primary Design Engineering for AIS/GIS Substation Projects within EPC, Power Transmission & Distribution, or Utility sectors.
2. Proven expertise in handling complete primary engineering activities from pre-bid engineering through commissioning and warranty support, with exposure to secondary engineering activities.
3. Solid knowledge of substation layouts, equipment arrangements, earthing systems, cable routing, lighting, lightning protection, and electrical design standards.
4. Experience in reviewing engineering deliverables, vendor documents, BOQs, technical calculations, and ensuring compliance with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, ANSI, and IS.
5. Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams, coordinate with multidisciplinary stakeholders, and deliver projects within schedule, quality, and budget requirements. Exposure to international utility projects and global engineering standards will be an added advantage.
