Role & responsibilities

To oversee and execute civil construction activities for Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Waste-to-Energy (WtE) plant projects, ensuring timely completion of civil works while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and statutory compliance. The role is responsible for coordinating with contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams for successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution

- Supervise all civil construction activities related to the MSW Waste-to-Energy plant.
- Ensure execution of civil works as per approved drawings, technical specifications, and project schedules.
- Monitor construction of tipping floor, waste receiving bunker, turbine generator building, boiler foundation, ash handling structures, chimneys, administrative buildings, workshop, internal roads, drainage systems, weighbridge, water reservoirs, boundary wall, and utility structures.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Process teams for seamless project execution.
- Ensure timely availability of work fronts for equipment erection.

Construction Management

- Monitor contractor performance, productivity, and work progress.
- Verify work measurements and certify contractor bills.
- Coordinate with consultants for inspections and approvals.
- Resolve site execution issues and engineering clarifications.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, equipment, and construction materials.

Quality Assurance & Control

- Ensure compliance with approved QA/QC procedures.




- Monitor concrete works, structural steel interfaces, earthwork, foundations, and finishing works.
- Ensure quality testing of concrete, steel, aggregates, soil, and other construction materials.
- Close quality observations and non-conformities within stipulated timelines.

Safety & Compliance

- Ensure strict adherence to Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) guidelines.
- Conduct regular safety inspections in coordination with the EHS team.
- Ensure contractors follow statutory safety norms and project safety procedures.
- Support implementation of secure work practices across the construction site.

Planning & Coordination

- Prepare and review construction schedules.
- Coordinate with design consultants for drawing revisions and technical approvals.
- Participate in project review meetings and provide construction progress updates.
- Identify construction risks and recommend mitigation measures.

Documentation & Reporting

- Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPR), Weekly Progress Reports (WPR), and Monthly Progress Reports (MPR).
- Maintain measurement books, site registers, quality records, and inspection reports.
- Verify contractor bills and quantity reconciliation.
- Maintain as-built records and project documentation.
