1. Experience in mainframe DevOps toolchain implementation and support using tools such as IBM UrbanCode Deploy, IBM Developer for z/OS, Git, Jenkins, zAppBuild, DBB, Endevor, Changeman or equivalent SCM/release tools.
2. Strong hands-on experience in z/OS mainframe environments including JCL, REXX, ISPF, TSO, SDSF, VSAM, DB2 utilities and batch processing concepts.
3. Ability to design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for COBOL, PL/I, JCL, DB2 and CICS application components.
4. Strong knowledge of mainframe system automation, workload scheduling, batch monitoring and alerting using tools such as IBM Workload Scheduler, Control-M, CA-7, OPC/TWS, NetView, SA z/OS or equivalent.
5. Experience in automating repetitive operational tasks using REXX, JCL procedures, shell scripting, Python or Ansible where applicable.
6. Valuable understanding of release management, deployment governance, change management, rollback planning and production implementation controls.
7. Ability to troubleshoot build failures, deployment issues, batch abends, scheduler failures and production incidents independently.
8. Experience in integrating mainframe pipelines with distributed DevOps platforms, artifact repositories,



code quality tools and automated testing frameworks.
9. Ability to work with application, infrastructure, operations and release teams to drive automation adoption and reduce manual effort.
10. Strong documentation, communication, stakeholder management and technical mentoring skills.

Key Responsibilities*

Design, implement and support zDevOps CI/CD pipelines for mainframe applications.

Automate build, package, deployment and rollback processes for COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS and related mainframe components.

Configure and maintain integration across source control, build automation, deployment, scheduler and monitoring tools.

Develop REXX/JCL scripts and automation utilities to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual interventions.

Manage workload scheduling, batch monitoring, alert handling and automation rules for production and non-production environments.

Troubleshoot pipeline failures, deployment issues, scheduler exceptions and production batch abends.

Support release planning, change implementation, deployment governance and post-implementation validation.

Create technical documentation, runbooks and knowledge articles for automation processes.
