Role & responsibilities

To supervise and execute mechanical installation activities for the Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Waste-to-Energy (WtE) plant, ensuring timely completion of mechanical works in compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements, safety regulations, and project schedules. The role involves coordination with civil, electrical, instrumentation, vendors, and contractors to ensure successful project execution and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution

- Supervise installation and erection of mechanical equipment as per approved drawings and project specifications.
- Ensure timely execution of mechanical works in line with project schedules and milestones.
- Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Process teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Review construction drawings, GA drawings, P&IDs;, and equipment layouts before execution.

Mechanical Installation

- Supervise erection of boilers, turbines, condensers, pumps, compressors, conveyors, cranes, fans, blowers, ash handling systems, flue gas systems, piping, valves, and utility equipment.
- Monitor installation, alignment, leveling, and commissioning readiness of rotating and static equipment.
- Ensure proper execution of piping fabrication, erection, hydro testing, and pressure testing.
- Coordinate with OEMs during equipment installation and commissioning activities.

Contractor & Site Management

- Monitor contractor performance, productivity,



manpower deployment, and resource utilization.
- Verify contractor measurements and certify work completion.
- Resolve site execution issues and coordinate engineering clarifications.
- Ensure optimum utilization of materials, tools, and equipment.

Quality Assurance & Control

- Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures and project specifications.
- Monitor equipment alignment, welding quality, NDT activities, hydro testing, and inspection requirements.
- Ensure timely closure of quality observations and punch points.
- Maintain installation records and inspection reports.

Safety & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) standards.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety inspections with contractors.
- Ensure implementation of permit-to-work systems and protected work practices.
- Ensure statutory compliance during installation and erection activities.

Planning & Coordination

- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Track project schedules and identify potential delays.
- Coordinate material availability with procurement and stores.
- Participate in project review meetings and progress discussions.

Documentation

- Maintain DPRs, WPRs, MPRs, installation records, inspection reports, test certificates, and as-built documentation.
- Verify contractor bills and quantity measurements.
- Prepare commissioning handover documentation.
