Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced MD General Medicine Doctor to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients, providing high-quality clinical care, managing OPD/IPD services, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best patient outcomes.
Role & responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical care by diagnosing, evaluating, and treating patients with acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Conduct outpatient (OPD) consultations and inpatient (IPD) rounds, ensuring high standards of patient care.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans based on clinical assessments and diagnostic findings.
- Prescribe medications, therapies, and preventive healthcare measures in accordance with established medical guidelines.
- Monitor patient progress, review diagnostic reports, and modify treatment plans as required.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide critical care support when necessary.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential patient medical records and clinical documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with specialists, nursing staff, and allied healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Educate and counsel patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and preventive healthcare.
- Adhere to hospital policies, clinical protocols, infection control practices, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, medical meetings, and continuous medical education (CME) programs.
- Ensure compliance with ethical medical practices,
patient safety standards, and National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines.
- Contribute to the overall improvement of clinical services and support the hospital's commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose, evaluate, and treat patients with acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Conduct OPD consultations and IPD rounds.
- Manage emergency and critical care cases as required.
- Prescribe medications and formulate treatment plans based on clinical findings.
- Interpret laboratory reports, diagnostic imaging, and other investigations.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
- Coordinate with specialists for referrals and multidisciplinary patient care.
- Provide patient counselling regarding diagnosis, treatment, and preventive healthcare.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, and medical ethics.
- Participate in clinical meetings, audits, CMEs, and continuous medical education programs.
Preferred candidate profile
- MBBS with MD/DNB in General Medicine from a recognized institution.
- Valid National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Council registration.
- 28 years of post-qualification clinical experience in a hospital or multispecialty healthcare setting (Fresh MD graduates with strong clinical knowledge may also apply).
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
- Experience in managing OPD, IPD, and emergency cases.
- Ability to interpret laboratory investigations, ECGs, X-rays, CT scans, MRI reports, and other diagnostic tests.
- Excellent patient management and counselling skills with a compassionate, patient-centric approach.
- Robust communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Good knowledge of medical ethics, clinical protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems is preferred.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, weekends, and emergency duties, if required.
- Immediate joiners or candidates with a short notice period will be preferred.
- Commitment to continuous learning and participation in Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs.
