Primary Skills

Japanese – Minimum requirement of Japanese language proficiency at the JLPT N3 level or higher

Design, build, enhance, and maintain robust mainframe applications (COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM).

Analyze complex business requirements and architect scalable technical solutions.

Lead code reviews, set coding standards, and oversee the output of junior developers.

Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain mainframe programs to ensure performance and reliability.

Robust familiarity with debugging tools (like: File-Aid, Xpeditor, Abend-AID), schedulers, and source/version control (Endevor or Changeman).

Deep analytical and troubleshooting skills for production, performance, and reliability issues.

Solid grasp of SDLC and Agile processes

Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) certified at N3 or above.

Secondary Skills

Experience in Assembler, mainframe migration, DevOps, or cloud modernization initiatives.

Expertise in advanced DB2 tuning, batch optimization, or automation (REXX, MQ, scripting).

Demonstrated leadership in mentorship, process improvement, and stakeholder management and good grasp of AI concepts
