Position Summary
The Tableau Developer is responsible for the development, maintenance, and lifecycle management of enterprise dashboards and reports within Presbyterian Healthcare Services' Analytics Organization. This role supports ~200 dashboards and ~236 Tableau workbooks across clinical, financial, operational, and health plan domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards and workbooks supporting PHP, PDS/PMG, Quality, and System Services stakeholders
- Manage production support and lifecycle for ~200 dashboards and ~236 Tableau workbooks, including critical 'must-have' assets
- Perform L1/L2 support for Tableau incidents, including break/fix, data quality triage, and access/provisioning requests
- Execute small-ticket enhancements within 2-week turnaround targets using committed delivery capacity
- Coordinate with data pipeline and platform teams to resolve upstream data issues affecting reports
- Document dashboards with runbooks and maintain knowledge base for cross-training and continuity
- Support self-service analytics enablement by standardizing views and reducing manual distribution requests
- Track and manage work through ServiceNow,
maintaining accurate backlog and status reporting
- Required Qualifications
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field
- 0.6-1.5 years of hands-on Tableau development experience in an enterprise environment
- Strong proficiency in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server/Cloud, and calculated fields, LOD expressions, and performance optimization
- Experience with SQL (DB2 or SQL Server preferred) for data extraction and transformation
- Ability to work in regulated, compliance-sensitive environments (healthcare preferred)
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow or equivalent) for ticket management
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder-facing delivery and status updates
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare analytics (health plan, clinical quality, or hospital operations)
- Knowledge of AWS-hosted data environments and cloud analytics platforms
- Tableau Certified Data Analyst or Desktop Specialist certification
- Should be able to upskill with BusinessObjects (BoBJ) or SAS reporting environments
- Experience supporting self-service analytics rollouts and user training
