Role Overview

We are seeking a Head of Engineering Digital Platforms to lead the architecture, engineering, and delivery excellence of Avira’s Digital product suite.

This is a strategic technology leadership role — ideal for someone who thrives on building high-performance teams, modernizing architectures, and delivering large-scale, cloud-first, and AI-driven platforms.

The candidate will collaborate closely with Product, Delivery, and Operations leadership to define and execute Avira’s digital roadmap across FinTech, Healthcare, and Enterprise ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Leadership & Architecture

- Define and own the engineering strategy, architecture and roadmap for Avira’s Digital Platforms (Athena, Nexus, IBex, Control Centers).
- Architect scalable, secure, and event-driven systems using microservices, serverless and Azure, AWS Cloud.
- Institutionalize best practices for Infrastructure-as-Code, CICD and DevSecOps.
- Drive modernization, API-first architecture, and cloud adoption initiatives.

Product Engineering & Delivery

- Partner with Product Owners to translate business vision into executable roadmaps.
- Lead multiple agile teams delivering quarterly releases with high quality, reliability, and predictability.
- Manage end-to-end software delivery,



from design and build to production operations.
- Champion performance optimization, observability and proactive issue resolution.

People Leadership & Culture

- Build, mentor, and scale a world-class engineering organization across Java, .NET, AI/ML and ReactJS.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability and continuous learning.
- Manage both in-house and vendor teams, ensuring alignment, agility and productivity.

Governance & Strategic Leadership

- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders on strategy, governance and risk management.
- Ensure compliance with SOC-2, ISO, and client-specific controls.
- Represent Avira’s technology strategy in executive, client and partner forums.

Qualifications
