Within Strategy, Finance Function Strategy helps shape the CFO agenda and activate it from strategy through end-to-end transformation. We support CFOs in reimagining and positioning Finance as a driver of growth, resilience, and enterprise value by combining:

- Sector knowledge (industry economics, operating models, and risk dynamics) to inform CFO-relevant decisions,

- Finance expertise (the evolving expectations of the CFO and value levers across Finance), and

- Activating the firm (orchestrating the right specialists to translate vision into execution across the transformation lifecycle).

Our Strategy Consultants work with client and project teams to support global engagements from India, focusing on delivering impactful results. Their responsibilities include conducting primary and secondary research, developing insights, analyzing large data sets, and understanding how our solutions can address client pain points. They capture current processes, identify value driving opportunities, prepare work plans, design to-be processes, work directly with client teams and facilitate meetings to enable decision making. Additionally, they organize and prepare recommendations on client issues and participate actively in new business development, thought leadership and firm building activities.

Competency Overview: Strategy Finance Function Strategy (FFS)

Core service offerings commonly supported by the Finance Function Strategy team include:

- Capital Markets & Deals (supporting Finance to safeguard deal value through operating model, performance, and controls alignment across M&A; planning and execution).
- Digital Strategy (including AI-first Finance use cases and value realization)
- CFO Visioning and shaping CFO Agenda (helping CFOs reimagine and position Finance as a driver of growth, resilience, and enterprise value)
- Finance Strategy & Operating Model (Finance operating model design, service delivery/GBS alignment, scalable delivery)
- Business Partnering & Cost Management (analytics-led business partnering, performance management, cost optimization)





Key Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities include activities centered around client business challenges and opportunities, e.g., conduct analyses and develop insights, analyze large sets of data, work directly with project teams, facilitate meetings to enable decision making, lead analysis and client conversations, organize and prepare recommendations to address client problems, and participate actively in current business development, thought leadership and firm building activities.

Depending on the project, you will be involved throughout the project life cycle, adding value during the problem structuring and analysis phases. Responsibilities include understanding client’s capabilities, business context, assessing current organization structure and operating model, conducting end-to-end value chain diagnostics to unlock levers that can produce sustained performance improvement. Additionally, the role involves designing a future state structure, incorporating innovative solutions and emerging technologies, and enabling change management to ensure seamless integration and adoption of new processes.

Candidates should demonstrate substantial experience and / or knowledge in any sector across the following areas:

- Drive Finance function strategy & transformation for the client across the M&A; and capital markets lifecycle from pre-sign to post-exit by driving Day-1 readiness, IPO preparedness, Target Operating Model (TOM alignment), separation / integration planning & execution and performance & controls governance.
- Shape and execute Finance separation and integration strategies (carve-outs, standalone cost models), partnering with Deals and other advisory teams to protect and maximize deal value.
- Drive Digital & AI-first Finance Strategic transformation initiatives, including use case prioritization, value realization frameworks, and automation roadmaps
- Develop AI Strategy in Finance Function and build AI Operating Models specific to the Finance Function for clients
- Support CFO agenda shaping through industry and company research, including finance trends,



operating model patterns, and risk/regulatory considerations relevant to the client’s sector
- Gather and interpret business requirements to craft insights and strategies, aligning initiatives with overarching business goals and client success metrics
- Analyze Finance’s current-state performance (process, organization, governance, technology, service delivery footprint) to identify improvement opportunities and value levers
- Recommend relevant solutions to support the reimagining of Finance processes, targeting greater business performance and agility
- Develop diagnostics, analysis and business cases (e.g., value sizing, benefits tracking approach, KPI frameworks, productivity metrics, cost baseline)
- Design future-state Finance operating models (roles, governance, service catalog, controls ownership, RACI, location strategy, GBS/shared services integration) and transformation roadmaps as needed
- Create client-ready deliverables (PowerPoint narratives, executive summaries, workplans) and facilitate working sessions to enable decision making

What skill does it take?

- Strong understanding of the Finance Function domain in the M&A; lifecycle, carve-outs, integrations (planning & execution), IPO readiness, Day 1 readiness, and transaction governance structures.
- Proven industry acumen and strategy consulting skills while working collaboratively with business stakeholders and project teams to deliver measurable results
- Strong and effective storytelling and communication skills (written and verbal) tailored to various situations and audiences
- Synthesizing complex information and generating meaningful insights based on analysis of client’s data and information from primary and secondary research
- Self-driven to keep pace with leading business trends and ability to articulate associated strategic implications across one or multiple industries
- Leading project work streams and working autonomously with minimal direction
- Experience and working knowledge of AI tools like ChatGPT, Vercel (v0), Claude, along with data analysis, modeling and visualization using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio, Visual Basic, Power BI, Alteryx or other tools
- Ability to incorporate AI Strategy in Finance Function and build AI Operating Models specific to the Finance Function for clients
- Understanding of Finance processes (R2R, P2P, O2C, FP&A;), close acceleration, and reporting harmonization.
