We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with hands-on experience in CATIA and AutoCAD. The candidate will be responsible for creating new engineering models, modifying existing designs and generating accurate 2D manufacturing drawings. The role also requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle reverse engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- • Develop and design 3D models using CATIA
- • Modify and improve existing 3D models based on requirements
- • Convert 3D models into detailed 2D manufacturing drawings
- • Create new 2D drawings with proper dimensioning and tolerances
- • Perform reverse engineering by analyzing physical components and recreating accurate models
- • Prepare complete manufacturing drawings including BOM, tolerances, and process details
- • Maintain structured and logical organization of design data, files, and folders
- • Ensure proper naming conventions for parts, assemblies, and drawings
Required Skills & Competencies
- • Proficiency in CATIA and AutoCAD
- • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
- • Ability to interpret and create technical drawings
- • Knowledge of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) is preferred
- • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- • Ability to manage and organize design data efficiently
- • Professional approach to handling engineering design tasks
Qualifications
- • Bachelors Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Preferred Experience
- • Experience in reverse engineering projects
- • Exposure to manufacturing environments (machine design, aerospace engineering, dies and moulds etc.)
- • Familiarity with design documentation and version control practices
