Position Summary QA Tester

Location: Hyderabad

Shift Timings: 11:00 AM to 08:00 PM (IST)

Experience: 6-8 Years

The QA Tester is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable,and business-ready software releases within the Nucleus Product Team. Working
In an Agile environment, the role focuses on validating functional and non-functional requirements through comprehensive manual testing, API and data validation, integration testing, defect management, and risk-based quality assurance practices. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts, and cross-functional teams to drive quality throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), support release readiness, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Experience
with test automation tools such as Tosca is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Testing & Quality Assurance
• Design and execute test cases based on user stories and defined acceptance criteria
• Perform exploratory testing to identify defects and risks beyond scripted scenarios
• Identify, document, and track defects with explicit detail and traceability
• Manage the defect lifecycle, supporting prioritisation through severity and impact assessment Automation
• Contribute to, maintain, and enhance automated test suites (e.g. Tosca)
• Support increasing regression coverage through automation (not a dedicated automation engineer role) Test Strategy, Planning & Release Support




• Define and maintain test approaches and plans for releases
• Apply risk-based testing to prioritise coverage
• Perform regression testing for releases
• Provide input into go/no-go decisions for deployments Non-Functional & Integration Testing (Coordination)
• Coordinate non-functional testing activities, including:
o Performance and load testing (via specialist teams)
o Security testing (managed through InfoSec / penetration testing)
o Accessibility testing (as required for new changes)
• Ensure integration testing across APIs and data flows is completed and validated Environments & Test Data
• Support the creation and maintenance of realistic test data
• Manage and coordinate testing across environments (Dev, UAT, Staging) Agile & Early Quality Engagement
• Participate in story refinement, ensuring testability and challenging acceptance criteria early
• Translate requirements into effective test scenarios based on user stories
• Collaborate closely with developers and the product owner throughout the sprint Continuous Improvement & Feedback Loop
• Monitor production defects and feed insights into continuous improvement




• Identify quality gaps and recommend improvements to processes and test Coverage

- Required Qualifications & Experience
• 6–8 years of proven experience in QA & Testing, with a strong background in either consulting services or industry-based delivery environments.
• A bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognized institution is required.
• Proven experience in Software Quality Assurance and Manual Testing.
• Strong expertise in Functional, Exploratory, Regression, and Risk-Based Testing.
• Experience in API, Integration, and Data Validation Testing.
• Ability to create test cases from user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Strong defect management and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience developing test strategies, test plans, and release testing approaches.
• Experience with Tosca or similar test automation tools.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
• Knowledge of defect tracking and test management tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality products.

- Preferred:
• Exposure to performance, security, accessibility, and load testing.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps testing practices.
• Experience coordinating with specialist testing teams.
• Knowledge of quality standards, governance, and compliance requirements.
• ISTQB certified.
- TOSCA (AS1/AS2) certified
