International Logistics Specialist

Description
- Support U.S. operations with strong flexibility to work in overlapping U.S. time zones to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
- International Logistics Management: Oversee end-to-end global logistics operations, ensuring smooth execution of import/export activities aligned with organizational goals across VTC and GDC divisions.
- Global Container Optimization: Plan and execute container building and release strategies for international shipments to maximize space utilization, reduce freight costs, and ensure on-time delivery.
- International Vendor & 3PL Coordination: Collaborate with global vendors, U.S.-based partners, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to manage cross-border shipments and meet SLAs.
- Carrier & Freight Management: Act as the key point of contact for international carriers (ocean, air, and multimodal), ensuring cost efficiency, reliability, and service quality.
- Freight Planning & Consolidation: Handle international load planning, shipment consolidation, and dispatch activities to optimize freight movement and minimize transit costs.
- Cost Optimization: Analyze international freight spend and identify opportunities to reduce logistics, packaging, and transportation costs while maintaining service excellence.
- Stakeholder Communication: Provide timely updates to internal teams (India & U.S.) and external stakeholders on shipment status, delays, cost fluctuations, and supply chain risks.
- Customs & Compliance: Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, including accurate documentation, HTS code classification, and adherence to U.S.
import/export laws.
- Dock & Capacity Planning: Coordinate inbound international shipments and manage receiving dock capacity to ensure efficient material flow.
- Freight Rate Management: Monitor spot vs. contracted international freight rates to ensure cost-effective logistics decisions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, operations, warehouse, and leadership teams across India and the U.S. to resolve logistics challenges and drive improvements.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Support environmentally responsible logistics practices by optimizing routes, reducing emissions, and improving packaging efficiency.
- Performance Tracking: Develop and track KPIs related to international shipping cost, transit time, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.
Required Experience & Skills
- 5-8 years of experience in International Logistics / Supply Chain Management, with at least 2 years handling U.S. logistics operations.
- Hands-on experience in managing air and ocean shipments, freight forwarders, and 3PL partners.
- Robust knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, import/export documentation, and HTS codes.
Technical Skills
- Solid understanding of international freight modes, Incoterms, and global logistics practices.
- Experience with logistics systems such as TMS, WMS, and ERP platforms.
