Role & responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library.
- Organize, catalogue, classify, and maintain books, journals, digital resources, and other learning materials.
- Ensure proper shelving, inventory management, and maintenance of library resources.
- Issue, receive, renew, and maintain records of library books and materials.
- Conduct periodic stock verification and prepare inventory reports.
- Recommend new books and educational resources based on curriculum requirements and student interests.
- Assist students in locating books and using library resources effectively.
- Guide students in developing reading habits, research skills, and information literacy.
- Support teachers by providing relevant reference materials and learning resources.
- Coordinate with faculty to procure books aligned with the academic curriculum.
- Organize reading sessions, book fairs, storytelling activities, author interactions, and library events.
- Promote reading initiatives and encourage active participation among students.




- Display new arrivals, themed collections, and educational materials to enhance library engagement.

Preferred candidate profile

- Bachelor's degree in Library Science (B.Lib.Sc.) or Library & Information Science.
- Master's degree (M.Lib.Sc.) will be an added advantage.
- 2 to 3 years of experience as a Librarian in a school or educational institution.
- Good knowledge of library cataloguing and classification systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office and library management software.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of digital libraries and online educational resources.
- Experience in organizing literary events and reading programs.
- Solid attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with academic staff.
- Familiarity with CBSE, Cambridge, or other school curriculum requirements is preferred.
