WordPress / App Developer About the Role

We are a leading medical communications agency building digital infrastructure websites and mobile applications for pharmaceutical and healthcare education brands. We re looking for a WordPress App Developer who can own the full stack: a headless WordPress backend feeding a React Native/Expo mobile app, plus the Linux server environment that keeps it all running reliably.
This is a high-ownership role for someone who s equally comfortable in WordPress s PHP/plugin ecosystem, a modern JS-based mobile app, and the Linux server stack underneath both.

What You ll Do

- Architect and build headless WordPress setups exposing content via REST API/WPGraphQL for consumption by a mobile front end

- Develop and maintain the companion mobile application using React Native (Expo), including builds and releases via EAS Build

- Integrate Firebase Analytics (and other Firebase services as needed) into the mobile app

- Manage WordPress development including custom plugins, theme customization, and form/membership solutions (e.g., Ultimate Member)

- Own Linux server administration and hosting provisioning, configuration, security hardening, and ongoing maintenance (current stack hosted on Hostinger)

- Handle DNS and email infrastructure MX records, SPF, DKIM, and troubleshooting deliverability issues (e.g., migrating from host-default mail records to Google Workspace)

- Monitor server health, uptime, backups, and performance; troubleshoot issues proactively

- Implement security best practices across WordPress sites and server environments (SSL, firewalls, malware prevention, access control)

- Collaborate with design and content teams to implement features, forms, and custom functionality across multiple brand websites

- Maintain documentation for server configurations, deployment processes, and app build pipelines

What We re Looking For




- 3-5 years of experience in WordPress development, with demonstrable experience building or maintaining a headless WordPress architecture

- Hands-on experience with React Native and Expo, including EAS Build for app deployment

- Working knowledge of Firebase (Analytics at minimum; Firestore/Auth a plus)

- Strong command of Linux server administration comfortable in the command line, managing services, and basic hardening

- Practical experience with DNS management (MX, SPF, DKIM, CNAME records) and email deliverability troubleshooting

- Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, and the WordPress plugin/theme ecosystem

- Familiarity with hosting platforms (Hostinger or similar) and Google Workspace administration

- Understanding of REST APIs/WPGraphQL for headless content delivery

- Strong debugging skills across the stack from PHP backend to mobile app to server config

Valuable to Have
- Experience publishing apps to the App Store and Google Play

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile or web deployment

- Experience with security compliance relevant to healthcare/pharma digital platforms

- Prior experience working with medical, pharma, or healthcare-sector clients

- Knowledge of caching, CDN setup, and site performance optimization
