Core Experience Required

1. FCA Operational Resilience (UK) Knowledge

- Robust understanding of impact tolerances

- Experience in mapping business services

- Familiarity with scenario testing cycles

- Awareness of CMORG / Bank of England stress and scenario expectations

Hands-on Scenario Testing (End-to-End Ownership)
Candidates must have led scenario testing cycles, not merely participated. This includes:

- Designing severe-but-plausible scenarios such as:

- Third-party failure





- Cyber disruption

- Data corruption / integrity loss

- People or site unavailability

Demonstrated experience integrating testing across:

- Business services

- Technology dependencies

- Third-party ecosystems

Behavioural Expectations

- Strong analytical capabilities

- Sound understanding of risk frameworks

- Ability to independently lead testing exercises

About your team

The Controls Assurance and Operational Resilience team is part of the Non-Financial Risk & Enterprise Resilience function, a centralized global team responsible for providing independent assurance over controls and Risk across business and technology functions.

The team works closely with internal stakeholders, internal audit, and external regulators, ensuring that controls are designed, implemented, and operating effectively. The scope includes :

Supporting enterprise resilience capabilities through structured testing and validation of service continuity





Providing governance and independent assurance over control design, implementation, and ongoing effectiveness

Driving integrity, coverage, and sustainability of control frameworks within Enterprise GRC (ServiceNow IRM)

About your role

As a Manager in Controls Assurance & Operational Resilience, you will serve as a domain expert and execution lead, driving the design, delivery, and scale-up of control assurance and resilience testing across business and technology domains.

The role covers end-to-end testing across key areas including business continuity, third-party resilience, and scenario-based testing of critical business and technology controls. You will be accountable for ensuring testing is risk-led, consistently executed, and aligned to evolving regulatory expectations.

You will play a central role in embedding audit-ready, regulator-defensible practices by standardizing testing methodologies, strengthening evidence quality, and improving the consistency and transparency of reporting. In parallel, you will support the evolution of resilience testing capabilities to meet requirements under frameworks such as DORA and FCA operational resilience.

This role combines hands-on execution with governance leadership, including ownership of the testing lifecycle, uplift of data quality, and driving automation to improve efficiency and scalability of the assurance model.

Working across first, second-, and third-line functions, you will challenge control design, resolve evidence and data gaps, and actively support audit and regulatory engagement.

About you

Your key accountabilities in this role would be:

Resilience Testing Support

Support the design and execution of structured resilience testing, including scenario-based testing aligned to regulatory expectations (e.g., operational resilience, DORA principles)

Assist in validating control effectiveness in disruption scenarios, including coordination across technology and operational teams

Contribute to testing of critical service dependencies, including technology components and third-party services where applicable

Support documentation and reporting of resilience testing outcomes and identified gaps
