Job Title: Production Engineer Heat Pump Assembly

Job Description:

The Production Engineer is responsible for overseeing day-to-day assembly operations of heat pump systems, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. The role involves managing manpower, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement in assembly processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute daily/weekly production plans for heat pump assembly.

• Ensure adherence to production schedules and delivery commitments.

• Monitor line productivity and optimize resource utilization.

• Track critical milestones for export orders and ensure on-time completion.

• Oversee refrigerant circuit assembly, vacuuming, gas charging, and leak testing.

• Support performance testing of heat pumps under specified operating conditions.

• Manage technicians for Fabrication; Refrigeration assembly; Electrical wiring

• Supervise assembly of heat pump units including compressors, evaporators, condensers,

piping, and electrical systems.

• Ensure correct implementation of SOPs, drawings, and work instructions.

• Support troubleshooting of assembly issues on the shop floor.

• Ensure products meet internal quality standards and customer specifications.

• Coordinate with QA/QC team for in-process and final inspections.

• Drive reduction of rework, rejection, and defects.

• Supervise and guide technicians, operators,



and contract workers.

• Allocate tasks and monitor performance.

• Conduct training on assembly practices, safety, and quality.

• Ensure compliance with QMS & EHS (Setting, Health & Safety) standards.

• Enforce safe work practices and use of PPE.

• Coordinate with stores and procurement for timely availability of materials.

• Minimize wastage and control inventory at line level.

• Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.

• Support lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, Kaizen, etc.).

• Improve cycle time, efficiency, and productivity.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain production reports, shift logs, and KPI tracking.

• Report daily production status, issues, and corrective actions to management.

• Ensure proper documentation of assembly and testing records.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of heat pump systems and refrigeration cycle

• Understanding of assembly processes (mechanical & electrical)

• Leadership and team handling skills

• Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability

• Knowledge of quality tools and lean manufacturing

• Basic understanding of ERP systems

Qualifications:

• B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field

Experience

• 3-8 years of experience in HVAC / Heat Pump/Chillers / Refrigeration product assembly

• Prior experience in Engineering role preferred
