Job Title: R & D -Deputy Manager/Manager (Hydraulics and Powertrain)
Job Mission
Taking a lead role in Hydraulics and Powertrain System design and development throughout the product development life cycle to meet performance, reliability, quality and cost objectives of the program.
Job description
- This position is responsible for Hydraulics and Powertrain System and Components design at Under Ground Mining Equipment Division for Material Handling and Drilling Equipment.
- Sizing and selection of hydraulic components like pump, control valve, motors, cylinders, and filters from different hydraulic sources to arrive at detail technical specifications.
- Ensuring timely permanent solutions for Hydraulic design deficiencies that get surfaced during the product verification phase, by deploying scientific methodologies to analyze failures and fixing it
- Proactive role in optimizing performance, reliability and cost targets through systematic reviews with the concerned CFT and Global R&D; Team.
- Perform design calculations like neutral pressure drop, hydraulic power losses, hydraulic power and torque requirements, Lifting capacity calculations. Prepare vehicle level hydraulic schematics.
- Explore new technology and optimization in system design.
- Ensuring timely permanent solutions for Hydraulic design deficiencies that get surfaced during the product verification phase, by deploying scientific methodologies to analyze failures and fixing it
- Analyze and optimize hydraulics and powertrain components to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Integrate powertrain systems seamlessly into overall equipment design through cross-functional collaboration.
- Plan and execute comprehensive testing and validation procedures to meet performance and durability targets.
- Co-Ordinate with Cross functional teams and support division engineers in projects from Concept design to proto development, and sustenance activities.
- Knowledge of hydraulic instrumentation such as pressure sensors, flow meters, temperature sensors,
and machine CAN communication with instrumentation like Hydrotechnik or Parker Senso Control to record CAN parameters.
- Experience in hydraulic system diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in hydraulic system data analysis for problem identification and providing cost-effective solutions.
- Basic understanding of electro-hydraulic systems and their control software like IQAN and Rexroth Bodas.
- Perform hand calculations, arrive at key specifications of components. Co-ordinate with supplier to finalize components.
- Interpret schematics, understand logics, propose solutions, update and modify.
- Hydraulic hose and fittings selection.
- Work on PDM/PLM systems associated with engineering release processes.
- Ensure defect free and on time delivery of tasks in strict compliance with operating procedures.
- Complete Design and Development: Engine Selection, Power- Eco Mode torque selection,
- Air intake system Design, Cooling system (Radiator, hydraulic, transmission, Fuel Cooler along with & Optimized Fan Selection, Transmission selection (Manual/Torque-converter/Transaxle/HST) selection, Exhaust system installation, Fuel System and Brake system.
- Develop and implement test protocols to validate hydraulic and powertrain system performance under various conditions.
- Mentor junior engineers in testing and validation activities, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to enhance testing and validation processes.
- Ensuring timely permanent solutions for Powertrain deficiencies that get surfaced during the product verification phase, by deploying scientific methodologies to analyse failures and fixing it
- Proactive role in optimizing performance,
reliability and cost targets through systematic reviews with concerned CFT and Global R&D; Team.
- Engine selection, driveline selection, vehicle performance and Engine aux design
- Ensuring timely permanent solutions for Powertrain design deficiencies that get surfaced during the product verification phase, by deploying scientific methodologies to analyse failures and fixing it
- - Proactive role in optimizing performance, reliability and cost targets through systematic reviews with concerned CFT and global team
- Ensure Proper Technical File Maintain & Upgrade Time to time for assigned products related to Powertrain Component selection and Product Powertrain System Calculation.
- Prepare & own Test & verification of Hydraulic and Powertrain Components and Full Product according to CE Documentation Checklist.
Experience requirements
Working experience of around 15 to 20 Years in Construction / Mining Equipment Hydraulics /Powertrain System design and development. For Underground mining products.
Knowledge
- Is competent and aware of current, state-of-the-art Hydraulic and Powertrain technologies.
- Highly motivated & self-driven engineering professional with an Innovation fuelled approach
- Ideally a Creative thinker and at the same time a problem solver & decision maker in whole product development cycle.
- Good understanding of Hydraulic and Powertrain planning for Homologation and regulatory procedures.
- Design and tune core component installation and component operating environment within the vehicle, in accordance with the installation guidelines / Subsystem Design Specifications
- Proficiency in Creo and Teamcenter.
- Experience in designing Underground mining products is an added advantage.
Educational requirements
M.E / M. Tech / B.E. / B. Tech degree in Mechanical / Agricultural Engineering from reputed institutions
