Role & responsibilities

- Perform blood grouping, Rh typing, antibody screening, and cross-matching.
- Collect, process, label, and store blood and blood components as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure proper storage conditions and monitor temperatures of blood storage equipment.
- Perform compatibility testing before issuing blood and blood products.
- Receive, inspect, and process donor blood units.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of blood collection, testing, inventory, and transfusion.
- Conduct quality control procedures on laboratory equipment and reagents.
- Ensure compliance with NABH, NACO, FDA (where applicable), and hospital policies.
- Assist in investigating transfusion reactions and report findings appropriately.




- Maintain inventory of blood units, reagents, and laboratory consumables.
- Follow infection control, biomedical waste management, and laboratory safety protocols.
- Coordinate with clinicians, nursing staff, and laboratory personnel to ensure timely availability of blood products.
- Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs.

Preferred candidate profile

- Knowledge of NABH and NACO guidelines.
- Experience with automated blood bank analyzers.
- Understanding of quality management systems in laboratory services.
