- Anesthesia Care (OR): Administer general, regional, and local anesthesia, maintaining airway management (intubation), and monitoring vital signs during surgery.
- Critical Care Management (ICU): Manage critically ill patients, including those with heart or lung issues, utilizing advanced life support.
- Procedures: Perform intubations, central vascular access, arterial line insertion, and emergency cardioversion/defibrillation.
- Pre & Post-Operative Care: Conduct rapid preoperative assessments and manage post-operative pain, including PCA and epidural management.
- Emergency Response: Participate in hospital-wide, high-stakes medical situations, such as trauma activations and cardiac arrests.
- Patient Monitoring: Maintain stability by managing blood pressure, heart rate, and fluid balance.
- Coordination:
Collaborate with surgeons and theatre teams, and act as the primary caregiver or intensivist in the ICU.
Preferred candidate profile
- Education: MBBS with postgraduate specialization (MD/DNB/DA) in Anesthesiology, often with additional fellowship training in Critical Care.
- Experience: 0-5 years of experience is typically preferred for combined roles.
- Competencies: Proficiency in advanced airway techniques, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Communication: Solid, clear communication for high-stress situations, team leadership, and patient informed consent.
