Data Value Realization Manager

Client is transforming how enterprise data delivers measurable business value across the organization - shifting from siloed reporting, fragmented KPI tracking, and isolated business cases to a structured, domain-led value realization model. The Data Value Realization Leader will define and lead the enterprise approach for measuring, validating and governing value realization across all data domains.

This leader will own the strategy, framework, governance and operating model for connecting data products, operational KPIs and financial outcomes into a scalable value measurement system. The role will ensure that enterprise data products are consistently evaluated based on their contribution to business outcomes, operational performance, and financially aligned value realization.
This role will lead the Value Realization Office (VRO) for data and establish common standards for value trees, KPI architecture, business case alignment, telemetry readiness, reporting and attribution rules for data products. The leader will serve as the strategic bridge across Product Management, Data & Analytics teams, Finance, Engineering and Business stakeholders to ensure 3M can clearly understand where data products are creating value, how much value is being realized, and where to invest, scale, optimize or retire data capabilities.

This role requires a strategic thinker with deep understanding of data products, analytics, KPI frameworks, business value measurement and enterprise governance. The ideal candidate will combine product discipline, financial rigor and business acumen to institutionalize a transparent, defensible and scalable Data Value Realization capability across all data domains.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership

- Define the vision and strategic roadmap for data value realization across enterprise data domains in alignment with enterprise data strategy and platform capabilities.
- Establish a consistent framework for measuring value from data products, including value categories, KPI standards, baselines, targets, telemetry requirements, attribution principles, and financial conversion logic.
- Create a common value language that links data products, business outcomes, operational performance, and recognized financial impact.
- Lead the design, activation, and continuous evolution of the Data Value Realization Framework across domains and product portfolios.
- Translate enterprise priorities into actionable value realization standards and governance mechanisms that improve comparability, transparency, and decision-making.
- Partner with Data Product Managers,



Finance and Business leaders to embed value realization into planning, prioritization, and investment decisions.

Portfolio & Value Management

- Oversee value realization across the enterprise data product portfolio spanning all domains.
- Ensure each priority data product has a clear value statement, value tree, leading and lagging KPIs, baseline, target, assumptions and reporting cadence.
- Guide teams in connecting data product outputs to measurable business outcomes and enterprise KPI movement.
- Support portfolio prioritization across domains based on business value, readiness, capacity, and strategic importance.
- Drive cross-domain consistency in how value is defined, measured, and reported to reduce fragmented methodologies and inconsistent claims.
- Lead development of Product P&L; and domain-level value roll-ups for data products where applicable

Value Realization Office Leadership

- Stand up and lead the Value Realization Office (VRO) as the enterprise capability responsible for value architecture, measurement standards, reporting discipline, and value governance for data products.
- Define VRO operating model, decision rights, review cadence and stakeholder engagement processes across product and business teams.
- Oversee development and maintenance of enterprise artifacts such as value trees, KPI catalogs, baseline and target standards, telemetry checklists, etc.
- Ensure the VRO acts as the single source of truth for data product value measurement and reporting.
- Build scalable templates, methods, and enablement materials for adoption across all data domains.

Governance & Enablement

- Establish governance for monthly product value reviews, quarterly portfolio reviews and annual refresh of KPI and value standards.
- Ensure adherence to standards for KPI design, data quality, telemetry readiness, measurement maturity, and reporting integrity.
- Partner with Finance to ensure value calculations are conservative, defensible and aligned with enterprise financial guidance.
- Partner with data management, engineering and platform teams to embed telemetry and measurement readiness into the product lifecycle.
- Drive training, coaching, and change adoption for Product Managers, Analysts, and business stakeholders on value architecting, KPI governance,



and value reporting.
- Continuously improve templates, playbooks, methods, and governance processes based on pilot learnings and stakeholder feedback.

Stakeholder Engagement

- Build strong relationships with Data & Analytics leadership, Product teams, Finance, Engineering, and business domain stakeholders to align on value priorities and measurement expectations.
- Represent the data value realization portfolio in executive governance forums, planning cycles and investment reviews.
- Communicate the business impact of enterprise data investments in measurable terms by translating KPI movement and operational changes into executive-ready value insights.
- Serve as an enterprise advocate for disciplined value realization, helping teams move beyond ad hoc metrics and isolated business case claims.
- Support leadership with recommendations on where to fund, scale, optimize, pause, or retire data products based on measured value.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 8–12+ years of experience in data product management, data strategy, analytics leadership, business value realization, portfolio management or enterprise transformation in a global manufacturing or industrial enterprise
- Proven experience defining and operationalizing KPI frameworks, value measurement approaches, business case methodologies or portfolio reporting structures.
- Experience building or scaling a Value Realization Office, transformation office or portfolio value measurement capability
- Strong experience translating operational metrics and product performance into business and financial value.
- Demonstrated experience working across Data Product, Finance, Data Engineering, Analytics and Business stakeholders in a matrixed enterprise setting.
- Experience leading enterprise-scale transformation, PMO/VRO-type capabilities or governance functions.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data products, telemetry concepts, data quality, KPI architecture, and reporting disciplines.
- Familiarity with Product P&L; approaches, financial modeling, and value attribution methods.
- Skilled communicator able to influence senior business and technical leaders in a global organization.
- Experience with agile methodologies and product operating model
- Familiarity with modern enterprise data platforms and reporting ecosystems
