About the Role

Desai Haribhakti & Co. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager Indirect Tax to join its Tax, Regulatory & Services (TRS) practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing GST advisory, litigation, compliance, and client engagements while leading a team and contributing to business development initiatives.

Qualification

- Chartered Accountant (CA) Mandatory

Experience

- 7+ years of post-qualification experience in Indirect Taxation (GST), preferably with a reputed CA firm.

Key Responsibilities

GST Advisory

- Provide advisory services on Goods and Services Tax (GST) and other indirect tax matters.
- Advise clients on GST implications for business transactions, restructuring, and new business models.
- Assist clients in tax planning, process improvements, and implementation of GST strategies.
- Analyze complex GST issues and provide practical business solutions.

GST Litigation

- Handle GST assessments, audits, investigations, and departmental notices.
- Draft replies, submissions, appeals, and legal representations.
- Represent clients before GST Authorities, Appellate Authorities, Tribunals, and coordinate litigation matters with legal counsel.
- Support clients during GST audits and departmental investigations.

Compliance & Reviews

- Review GST returns, reconciliations, and statutory filings.
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance with GST laws.
- Conduct GST health checks, compliance reviews, and process audits.
- Identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.

Client Relationship Management

- Manage client engagements independently and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Understand client business requirements and provide value-added solutions.
- Support Partners in client presentations,



proposals, and business development initiatives.

Team Management

- Lead and mentor Associates and Assistant Managers.
- Review team deliverables and ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Conduct technical training sessions and support team development.
- Allocate assignments and monitor project timelines.

Business Development

- Identify opportunities to expand indirect tax services.
- Support proposal preparation, client pitches, and practice development initiatives.
- Contribute to revenue growth through cross-selling and client retention.
