Role Summary
Kalky Group is seeking a senior finance leader to head Accounts, Taxation, and Statutory Compliance across its real estate, interior design, modular kitchen, and power plants maintainance business The GM Finance & Accounting will own the group's financial control environment, lead statutory and regulatory compliance (including RERA), manage direct and indirect taxation, and build the systems and team needed to support the group's active real estate project pipeline and multi-entity operations.
This is a senior managerial mandate for a candidate with a minimum of 11 years of progressive experience in accounts, taxation, and compliance, ideally with exposure to real estate or mining industries, now transitioning into (or already established in) a real estate/multi-vertical group environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Control & Accounting
Own the finalization of books of accounts, P&L;, and Balance Sheet across all Kalky Group entities.
Supervise preparation of MIS reports cash flow, project-wise costing, sales/collections, and inventory on a weekly/monthly cadence for leadership review.
Maintain accurate records of Payables, Receivables, and Fixed Assets across entities.
Scrutinize Debtor/Creditor ledgers on a routine basis; drive collections discipline for real estate receivables tied to construction-linked payment plans.
Finalize vendor, contractor, and transporter bills; manage payment release approvals in coordination with management.
2. Taxation (Direct & Indirect)
Handle GST computation, monthly GSTR-1/3B filing, annual GSTR-9/9C, and ITC reconciliation against GSTR-2B.
Manage TDS/TCS computation and deposit under the Income Tax Act.
Respond to and resolve show-cause notices from GST and Income Tax authorities; represent the group before adjudicating and appellate authorities as needed.
Liaise directly with tax consultants and government authorities to close open assessments and audits.
3. Real Estate & Corporate Compliance
RERA Compliance:
Own end-to-end RERA registration, quarterly/annual project updates, escrow account management (70:30 or applicable ratio), and timely disclosures for all live and upcoming projects.
Corporate Compliance: Coordinate with Company Secretary/ROC consultants for Companies Act compliance — board resolutions, statutory registers, annual filings (AOC-4, MGT-7), and entity-level governance across the group's multiple legal entities.
Labour & Statutory Compliance: Own PF (Provident Fund) and ESI compliance — registration, monthly contributions, returns, and audits — for group staff and, where applicable, construction-site labour engaged through contractors.
Ensure compliance with Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act and other statutory obligations relevant to real estate construction sites.
Oversee stamp duty, registration, and other transaction-related statutory requirements for project sales.
4. Audit & Governance
Manage internal and statutory audits across all entities; ensure audit-readiness of books at all times.
Coordinate GST audits, tax audits, and any regulatory inspections; ensure clean audit trails.
Build internal financial controls appropriate for a multi-entity, multi-project group.
5. Leadership & Team Building
Lead and mentor the accounts and compliance team across group entities.
Act as the finance interface to the CEO, Group President, and board on financial health, compliance status, and risk exposure.
Support project-wise cost control and margin tracking across the group's project pipeline.
Candidate Profile (Benchmark)
The ideal candidate profile mirrors the following experience trajectory:
11+ years in Accounts & Taxation, with demonstrated career progression in accounts and compliance roles.
Proven ownership of GST compliance end-to-end (GSTR-1/3B/9/9C, ITC reconciliation, e-way bill reconciliation,
ITC-04 for job work).
Track record of successfully closing sales tax, excise, and service tax assessments across multiple forums (Tribunal, High Court).
Experience resolving show-cause notices and departmental audits/inspections independently.
Strong general accounting background: P&L;/Balance Sheet finalization, MIS reporting, debtor/creditor management, fixed asset records.
Prior exposure to real estate or mining industries is a robust plus — indicates discipline in high-compliance environments.
Working knowledge of Tally ERP, SAP, or equivalent ERP systems; strong MS Office/Excel proficiency.
GST Master Training or equivalent formal certification preferred.
Educated to B.Com level minimum; ICWAI/CA-Inter or equivalent professional qualification is an advantage.

Qualifications
B.Com/M.Com mandatory; CA/ICWA/CS (full or inter) strongly preferred.
Minimum 11 years of post-qualification experience in accounts, taxation, and compliance, with prior exposure to a senior leadership/head-of-department capacity preferred.
Prior real estate industry experience preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate with strong compliance fundamentals — RERA/PF/ESI exposure can be assessed and built in through onboarding support.
Location & Notice Period
Based in Bhubaneswar, Odisha (relocation support available for the right candidate).
Preferred notice period: 2 months or less.
